Only recognises one controller (binds saga)

Hello. I have hhad a good look about and cant see that anyone has had this or a solution to it. I cant get the game to recognise more than one controller input. Usually I can use xbox one for onfoot/srv/map and my beloved x52pro for flying. Now it lists the x52 and xbone but will only allow me to use one of them. Selecting the other will bring it to the binds menu but the controller is dead when I try to change anything.

Now this may be something bleedin' obvious (I am not PC literate) so I have given it two days of messing about before I make a fool of myself hereabouts with my PC ignorance!

If you think, 'well old moc, he has'nt switched the gleeble overide for the bleep tone on in twang' thats ok, you cats all know better than me!
Thanks for reading, would love any comments!
Moc.

is every controller you usually use to play the game plugged in vr inc as sometimes your binds can get messed up if you start the game without them all present and connected
my odyssey bind file reads PUPPY DOG CONTROL 4.0.BINDS
its startpreset file reads once opened (using notepad)
PUPPY DOG CONTROL
PUPPY DOG CONTROL
PUPPY DOG CONTROL
PUPPY DOG CONTROL
which should all make sense once my lost binds guide is read which was written for horizons 3.0 version binds but works too for the odd
hence the new split menu compared with hor single control menu

They were, yes....so I am now trying alternative ports but still only allowed to use one controller. Considering a fresh install....but wouldnt that leave the binds as was? I may aswell try it. Not bad wifi here. Need to walk away before I scream!

Wow! I did computer stuff! Thanks Strontium Dog! I have it working again with persistent binds. The xbox bindings are coming up with some strange definitions of what I press, but they work nonetheless.
A giant pint of my finest to you SD, also.....reading your previous thread I see myself there saying I was going to do this back then...how embarassing! Well I have now and many thanks.

the strange definitions maybe something to do with weather xinput is ticked in the launcher options or steam big picture mode control settings possibly
but with renamed backed up binds as per guide you should have no more issues controls wise
happy trails

Well I did this but the game will still only allow one controller at a time...same on two different PCs!
So i did a complete reset of a pc overnight and downloaded a fresh Odyssey from FD. Same again! I think I will take a break from the game until my steamdeck arrives!
It seems there are some out there who cant get their controllers to be recognised at all according to the 'known issues report' thingy. Well I shall stay in Horizons for now!
Thanks so much for your help, am using the method you explained anyway so many thanks.
Confused and tired......Moc

is the hotas software suite installed if so try removing it leaving only the driver
cant seem to figure whats going on here if windows recognises the devices they should both work when REBOUND they wont both automatically work please show your binding folder content in a pic
the alternate method is using your hotas software suite if it has a virtual device feature you combine two controllers into one virtual device

I'm currently working on getting both controllers on one binding, yes! So I have the xbox cont in one column and the X52pro in another, seems ok!

I dont think I will mess with it further. I'm not conversant with computers so dont really have much of a clue!
Thanks again for your help...theres something therapeutic about setting up keybinds!

Well...!
After much frustration and many thanks to Strontium Dog....its all ok again. I had to read up much that I was ignorant of to get there....well without the help of Strontium I would have given up. I changed things about, fiddled with the binds and all kinds of stuff I am uncomfortable with touching at all. Tried launching and saving using different USBs for the inputs...blimey it's been a nightmare...thanks so much. See you all in CQC! (ha!)
