Ooops I did it again

Since day 1, I've adopted a hardcore play style.

  • Sell shields and scanners to max cargo space.
    10 tonne Sidewinder
    22 tonne Hauler
    60 tonne Cobra
  • Die means die.
If I loose my ship I do a clean save and start again.

Well last night I managed to fly my Cobra and 500k credits of cargo into the side of a docking station.

This morning I'm flying a Sidewinder and 10k of cargo (very carefully)

So my message to anyone out there in the space lanes, with no insurance.
Welcome to the hardcore.

Kirmit if you are using Mouse and Keyboard, and you are on a budget, get yourself a game pad. Xbox360 usb version should be cheap. Once you get used to it.. you won't collide into Stations Anymore. :)

I boost out of stations all the time to give me that sense of Macross, Gundam, Naval Carrier Pilot boosting out on a catapult! :D But I have a full HOTAS plus rudder setup :D

This xD

game pad is sweet for trade runs I don't know what I would do with out my xbone pad, but don't think you will be doing well in combat any time soon as the analogue sticks have horrible dead zones.

Which is why the deadzones are all adjustable!

But I agree, the needed level of sensitivity and accuracy the xbox controller just doesn't posess.

Or a Viper launching from a Battlestar.
Galactica style, E: D Alpha last spring... :) :

I have them adjusted to zero, but there is still a large dead zone on the sticks, this is why I have ordered a new joystick which should be here in a couple of days, going to give a duel joystick set up a go xD

I must admit I did not have an issue with the XB controller in this game. I used my X55 Pro setup only once and felt it was overkill as ED is very simple in terms of flight model and combat in general (no bad thing at all, it's not every day you want, or have time, to play A-10 or suchlike).

I was quite surprised by this, but pleased as it also worked better having the little wireless XB controller in my hand as opposed to managing stick and throttle devices with the Rift on.

For the money, the XB controllers are very versatile and usable across a wide variety of games.

Thanks for the advise about controllers.

I use G13 game pad and a G500 mouse.

To be honest I crashed because I was being stupid, but was rather funny. I also boost out, but on this occasion I tried boosting IN
