Oops, Wanted again because He/she flew through my fire

In the famous or infamous words of Sgt. Riggs, "0ops!." The police forces sure are touchy when their shields get raked are'nt they? Was out earning a living shooting up bad guys and hang me if twice an Alliance Police Force ship did not fly right through my fire! So naturally the ole Wanted status pops up and it is weapons cold, thrusters and boost the heck out of there before they really get their panties rumpled and take out my ship, thus costing me the hard earned credits I had made trying to help them. Better to pay the fine than buy a new ship I thinks.

This is not a rant, or rage quit post. I have seen several out there fussing about this. I do so enjoy this game and hope others will enjoy it also whether they play solo, online, or in groups. I do wish they could alter the AI a little though so that an accidental raking of the shields does not set the Local version of the keystone Cops into a feeding frenzy!:D

Cannot wait to see this game develop into its potential. Have seen so many planets I want to go wander around on. Or be able to meet other players on a station, or city or some such. Several of you have answered some of my questions on the forum in a very kind manner and I do appreciate it. Good luck Pilots, see you in the Black.

A lot of people will tell you to be situationally aware. I think that should apply to the cops as well.

True, I do do my best to watch out. Have brushed a wingtip on a few asteroids dogfighting. My hats off to the Developers and I look forward to seeing this game meet its potential.

It's rare that this happens to me, but I agree that NPCs should also have situation awareness. In the middle of a gun fight would it make sense for a cop or whoever to run into the line of fire?
No
I don't get the repetitive counter argument that people use to try and justify this obvious flaw in the AI. Maybe I just don't love Elite enough like some people here to ignore the elephant in the room.
