After the recent patch 2.8.11, I (novice, broker, trailblazer) am on my way to the current CG (HIP 17something) in a ASP Explorer with 112T power generators (not something really priceless).
On the last jump, I'm being interdicted: I submit, and when I checked the offender to decide wether I'd run or fight I see that my Attacker is Elite(!), and is flying a Corvette (!!). Even though I closely escaped, it was more luck (and damage) than anything else.
I'm not even thinking about why a pirate is cruising around in a 200 megacr federal warship, and picking on peanuts at the end of the world. From what I could find so far, NPC opponents are meant to range to at most novice+2 (as my trade/explorer ranks are higher) = master (I'm not sure if that's valid for ship sizes as well).
I wonder if that is a hard limit (and hence a bug), or if there's always a small change of being suddenly hit by a sledgehammer going down on a fly like that?
I remember being attacked by Elite-ranked pirates before, but that was some patches ago and never in something so much bigger than what I was flying back then (Cobra MKIII)...
