Open a saved park from Alpha

I have been around for quite a while now (ever since Alpha 1).
I played a lot (A LOT) during Alpha 1 (not on Steam, but Frontier Launcher) and created some cool park then.
But after that I kinda slowed down and decided to wait for the full release, so I would be one again really excited to play the game.

Now that the full game has released I really would like to take some of my Alpha 1 parks and make them better in the full game.
I have all the save files from Alpha one, but now I am wondering: Is it even possible to take Alpha parks to the full game? And if so, how?

I have searched for the Steam save location of Planet Coaster but I can't seem to find it.

If anybody knows how to do this I would love to know!

P.s. I do have Alpha 3 still installed on Steam if that is needed.

This is where mine is.
C:\Users\(Your Username)\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster

Can you please stop making more threads? Just search somewhere and see if there is any "Planet Coaster Save Folder" or something.

The folder you described is the one for the Alpha saves for me, I can't seem to find my Steam saves there.
That is also why I made the thread, I searched a couple of times now and it always comes back to that folder, even though my Steam saves are not in there.

And btw, I only made 3 threads because I happened to be on the forum for the first time in months again , two in suggestions and one in here. 3 is hardly a high number of treads to post?
So I don't really get why you are complaining about that.
If you don't like my threads, don't read them, it can be as simple as that.

Yeah leave him alone, let the moderators decide whether people are posting too many threads or there's too many threads about one thing. Moderators can always combine threads if they want them that way.

Yes ! I agree ! That's a forum , it's made to help ! If he doesn't want to , he has to go away ....................[up][up][up][up]

*Bump*

Sorry for the bump! But really need my old park back!

The save file location hasn't changed since the alpha as far as I'm aware. I'm away from my PC currently, but I will double check that when I get a chance, though I do believe it's just a case of starting up the game and the files should be there.

The location of the saved parks of Planet Coaster is as follows;

Planet Coaster (final release): C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster\NUMBER\Saves
Planet Coaster Alpha: C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster\

You should be able to load Alpha parks with the final release of Planet Coaster.

Please keep us informed if you are able to load your parks.

I am only able to open parks that were saved in Alpha 3. Parks saved in Alpha 2 do not show up in the list of saved games. I had to go into PC Alpha and re-save all of my old game saves before they would appear in the full game. Also, my old save games from Alpha 1 do not appear in the current Alpha build. They seem to be lost for good...[cry]

Yes, you can. You will have received a message at the top left of the screen about this issue.

You will need to place down at least one park entrance gate. Those are located in the tab for Shops and facilities, custom shops. It's a piece of path with some tiles and two gates on it. You will need to put it in place of existing path right after the entrance building.

That's a good tactic to get your Alpha 2 and Alpha 3 parks working in the final release of the game. Sorry to hear that Alpha 1 parks are no longer supported.

Okay, I indeed found my parks in the folder, they were indeed in a seperate folder with numbers, thats why I missed them.
Thanks alot!

As for the Alpha 1 to Full game issue, I have found a way around it!
First make sure to make a save of your park in the latest version of the alpha still in the Frontier Launcher.
Save a new park in the Steam alpha version of the game and name it something that you will easily recognize (like transfertest).
Go into the save folder and open the folder that contains the Alpha 1 park (the folder would look something like this: 7D3C807F_park-[parknamehere])
In this folder you will find 1 file (named like this: fsave_parkdata).
Now copy that file, and go over to the folder of the earlier saved Steam Alpha park (in the example the transfertest).
Paste the copied parkdata file in here, and select to replace the file.
Now open the Steam Alpha and go to the transfertest park.
Save it again.
No paste the whole folder of that save into the folder for the full game, and it should work. (Dont forget to save in the full game aswell!)

It's working now !
Many thanks, Joel .[up] [big grin]

While I don't have any actual saves in Alpha 3, can I move the parks to fhe full game? I really like how they looked.
I'm guessing that Alpha 3 is the last version.
