I normally can't wait for the live stream from Ed and the team, but last nights fiasco was ajoke.


I tried hard to concentrate on what was being said but the idiots in the background ruined for me. The conga in the end was ok but the other shenanigans was over the top and distracting.

Unfortunately if this is going to be the norm then I will not watch it live but rely on the other Utubers/Streamers for the information.

I just can't see how you can't concentrate on what they're saying, because of stuffs going on in the background. Close your eyes...

I think you are completely wrong headed in this thread. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. This is simply a Buzzkill.

Whilst I didn't find it distracting. Ed and Sandy seemed to be trying to set totally different tones to the broadcast.
Sandy was in serious professional mode (mostly). Whilst Ed was in some last day of school mode.
Sometimes it's just better to listen than to watch.

I agree with the OP but for different reasons. I lasted for about 10 minutes after the talking began before bailing in utter annoyance.

Once the stream started I just couldn't get past the guy talking (the one wearing the NY Yankees ball cap). Sounded like he was talking thru a mouthful of mush. Understood about half of what he said.

The stuff going on in the background was mildly distracting and because it added absolutely nothing to the content supposed to be presented it should not have been happening. A static background would have been better.

And the guy with the beard??? Well - I won't go there - not in the mood to deal with fan bois right now.

I found the stuff in the background annoying. It distracted me from the message far more than regular gameplay footage usually does.

I ended up closing the window.

It's been a while since we had a good 'open letter'. I almost miss them.

As an aside, I do think a static background is preferable for Q&A live streams. If that sounds a bit dull, why not a slide show from the 'screenies' thread?

Ok, so I have crunched some numbers and can confirm that all the Live Streams are 76% waffle, 12% faff, 8% information and 4% broken and shallow and broken and placeholder and shallow and beige.

Don't blame me, blame the science.

Woooh, it's open letter season!

It's been a while.

So what's this one about...

...Ahh, seems someone's complaining that the Devs were having a bit of fun...

A+ for originality, atleast. Haven't had that one yet!

Now the big question is, what actually is an open letter? Isn't that just an unfolded piece of paper....?

In all seriousness, if you found the background distracting, why not just minimise the window and just, you know, listen to what Sandy was saying?

I found it one of the most imformative livestreams FD have done, as loads of questions were answered honestly.

Despite people literally having fun mucking around in the background being a great showcase for the game, I agree!

In future Ed must ensure all players in the background be sensible players and not the type to move around too much, the presenters must also have sensible serious faces at all times, smiling or seeming to enjoy oneself it is too distracting to the viewer and does not properly impart the sombre seriousness that is ED.

I thought it was fun to see the two of them actually enjoying the interaction with the community, in chat and in game. The fact they were having fun with it all bodes well, because people having fun with doing their job are going to have a vested interest in continuing to do it, and do it well.
