Dear Frontier Developments
It is great to see that ‘Decals’ for factions are now appearing in the game. It seems though, that by remaining neutral in the ‘Rise to Power’ activities,Canonn has been completely ignored.
As a group we now have 1543 members on our Canonn Science web site, 1191 Discord members and over 500 in our Player group. We have run numerous events, TWO Educating Ed episodes, Lave Radio interview, Red Wizzard is working with Drew and currently DrArcanonn is doing a piece with EuroGamer magazine.

We also helped in generating press coverage on the BBC of all places promoting Elite Dangerous.

Our group has an open and honest policy, sharing knowledgeand helping other communities, and yet little support has been given to the Canonn by Fdev, the only notable exception is the CG to build a small research platform in a system neighbouring Varati.

To say our player base is a little disappointed is an under statement

Therefore in very ‘British’ way this is our ‘Letter’ to you voicing our sadness at the way we are ignored.

I 100% agree del, this clearly is unacceptable, we (Canonn) have been in the Galnet probably more than any other player faction, we have made most of the big discoveries in the game, we appeared on the BBC and numerous other website to help advertise the game, the least in return then can give us our own god damn decal

Did you spend days and weeks making videos and PR stuff? How about use your own money to buy Fdev goods and give them to your "Friends" or maybe design and Print
hundreds of sets of tin foil stickers, send them around the world promoting the game and your player group ? No ... hmm ok please feel free to post your opinion elsewhere !

They really should introduce decals both for player factions in general (not just participants in specific events) as well as for major factions and the 11 powers. You have my support for this, as per the above.

No, because i have no contract with frontier, so everything you do is for your own pleasure. Why not just simply play the game, the way its intended?
If you spend so much time to promoting YOUR player group, is this really frontiers problem?
Is it nice to blame frontier not giving you a reward?
You indicate this as open letter and then tell me i should post my opinion elsewhere? really? LOL

If i decide to do something for the community, i dont expect anything in return.....i do it for free......true heros dont ask for rewards ;)

An unique decal for your group members?
I would write David directly, and i'm pretty sure he will respond to you. Complaining in an open letter is just what (dont get me wrong) crying kids do.....oh i've put so much effort in it and now they dont give me what i want.....bla bla bla

Explain your situation in an adult manner and see whats happen. David is a gamer by heart and he know what community means, if he had more time i think he would spend more time with the community.

As a Canonn member and while I made no discoveries or do have brought a limited if no "added value" in the unfolding of mysteries around here, I do second this :)
I like to think that I bring my own little piece to the thing by reporting to the non-canonn players on the forum I'm involved in.
Even if I'm not as smart/skilled/technical as some of the people participating on the threadnaught and other Canonn's media, even if I don't unfold mysteries etc, I do bring awareness of events happening in outer space to the communities I'm involved with, and I enjoy that :)

A Canonn decal available for purchase on the store would be seen as a kind gesture and a great way of rewarding involvement of the Canonn in the Elite lore, events and community life.
Even if the decal is not publicly available and is just given to a limited list of people, it would be great :)

Thank you [heart] Open letter was the fastest way to get it out to our group, My poor phone is red hot from Discord pings from the player group ! I have Ed's n Zac's e-mail and will see MB in a couple of weeks time.
Had several one to one chats with him and bought his book which he signed for us ! (Still not read it too busy playing ! LOL, just don't tell him ! );)
Had many a discussion wit Ed about Decal, when were at Lavecon. Love the game and the team to bits, sometimes though they miss the minor things, and with over a 1500 members the Canonn can be a demanding bunch ! (Looking at you Choo Choo ;-)

There is a twitter discussion with Graeme From TIIQ about this and he makes the point that we were not in the Dangerous Games so therefore we don't deserve one (Correct me if I'm wrong here Graeme). He makes the point that TIIQ is just as deserving as Canonn in the "community effort" stakes.

It is a good discussion and crystallises some points. There are several important Decals that seem to not have been worked on. Canonn, TIIQ, Lugh, among others. As Delmonte laid out, Canonn has some 1500+ registered members now and I imagine TIIQ and a few others are as good as or better than that. The sense of feeling "hard done by" in this is more than understandable. While I will argue for the Canonn to get support in the form of a faction detail just as strongly, or more so, than Delmonte. By arguing for the Canonn I by no means wish to detract from those other factions who are just as deserving.

The Canonn absolutely deserves a Faction Decal. DBOBE even said we are awesome. (Xdeath is now a Canonn Legend) Ergo Faction Decal. Canonn has been around since April last year, delving into the main story line in this game making videos, and moving the story line forward for everyone. At the forefront of this are the Canonn members and community. THEY deserve a decal. So they can recognise each other in game and FDev to recognise their efforts. Canonn and some others absolutely deserve a faction decal wether or not they were part of the Dangerous Games. Fuel Rats anyone? The Genie is out of the bottle.....

Another great thing that came from Graeme was a paid for "Special Effects" decal with proceeds going to the charity. We need to make this happen.:D

Seeing as we dont give a monkeys about rank, the only decal we can currently fly with any pride is DWE. So yes please, a Canonn decal, or... or.... I will close down all my public spreadsheets and listen to the screaming as the various mysteries burn (no I wont really)
