Open play: Alone in the Galaxy

I love this game. This is almost exactly what I've been waiting for... a stategic space game. I feel like I'm Han Solo before he meets the rebel forces or like I'm in Firefly (Netflix, check it out) with the freedom to cut my own way through the Galaxy. With that said, it's lonely out here. I expect it will take some time before the game catches on more with the Xbox One community and open space is supposed to be lonely, but I would hope for some warmth when I pull into a spaceport. Kind of what the crew of a Navy should would expect when docking. I have a solution for this; although I realize it probably won't be cheap to implement, I believe it will have World's of value (see what I did there, haha). The spaceport news should be an audio comentary with animated footage of the pertaining story and a little picture-in-picture of the reporter all within the upper window of the right pane. In addition when you select starport services, the broadcast should start automatically. I believe this will add a little bit of that "wow" factor to "Elite: Dangerous" and a bit of humanity to an otherwise solo existance.

Please let me know what you think of my idea.

P.S. The game audio through my 7.1 surround sound system is amazing, thank you for that.

P.P.S Can you add a radio in the cockpit with a few select playlists so I can feel like Starlord?

Thanks again,
Troy

First of all welcome to ED im fairly new to the game too, Im an old xbox gamer myself although i havent owned one for sometime switched to PC several years ago but i stay in contact with my old xbox buddies still and have been trying to convince them to give this game a go and im hoping it will catch on, may even invest in an xbox myself one day if i can afford it and give it a go myself on console.

As for your idea thought the same a while back it would certainly liven things up at stations, some sort of news broadcast with maybe some advertising thrown in maybe ads for ship brands or something.

As for the radio thing it could be a problem it depends on the music if it comes with the game and if its music that has a copyright in any way Frontier would then need to pay for royalties. Luckily on pc thats not a problem i just use internet radio or the music sitting on my hard drive .

As i said welcome to the game and goodluck

Animated footage would cost quite a bit to produce, but some audio to go with it would be nice. It would be great if they could find someone with a good BBC World Service radio voice to read the Galnet news.
