I will be protected by at least 3 Wings of players, their job will be to stop you pulling me out of super cruise, They will also drop into fights though not all.

Since this is my first time doing this event, I have decided that if I am killed before making 50% of the trip then I will re-attempt the route.

Here is a poster created by CMDR Nitek for this event, thanks to him for this.

Let me guess Harry Potter has an armed escort no doubt.

Well you'd have to expect so wouldn't you. As will some of the players going after him, so that's all OK then. I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say that pretty much every slot on that T9 is going to be packed with juicy HRPs too.

A heavily defended T9 making its way across the bubble should make for some pretty epic battles. Looking forward to watching it!

I really detested SDC's last stunt, both for its content (newb killing), its excuse (cancer related puns are not OK, ever) and its intent to be a workaround of FD rules and regs. This however seems like a great idea, more of this stuff and less of the juvenile pestering of new players please :)

Did we get any comment from FD about that? All the threads got locked and I figured they hoped we would just forget.

Anyway this new event seems like a jolly good idea. Maybe there is a cunning evil plan somewhere but I don't see it. Well done either way.

a trap would mean a hidden plot, in this case it is clear that they want to focus the attention on a single ship.. consider this: SDC kills 20 ships trying to kill that t9.. 20 score points.. everybody else kill 50 SDC ships, still score 0 as the target is the t9.. so, kill the t9 before you can count any kill of supporters..

that could be the only "trap"..

Sounds good. Rather than attacking new players they are inviting players of any shade to come and attack them.

I applaud this move by the SDC and hope they focus on doing this sort of thing in the future.

Oh, and i wouldn't underestimate that T9 either, its probably going to be a battle cow.

I used to fly a mecha-whale into combat zones back in... October. With the SCB nerfs (and all the changes since then) I doubt I would have much success if I bought myself a new T9 and outfitted her again.

Agreed on this new side of SDC. On the T9, a quick build in coriolis shows you could have a monster with 702MJ shields and 3380 hull. I wish the T9 had a detailed damage model, seeing a battle scarred monster pulling into a station after a few dozen battles would be amazing.
