So primarily I play in either group or solo (Yes I shy away from open, particularly now wings is out and its sometimes hard to get on at the same time as my friends). The reason being is there is some aspects of wings I think need to change...
1) when scanned I don't think you should be able to see if a player/npc is part of a wing or not.. that would ruin the surprise.
Just imagine the scenario.. I trader going through supercruise and a loan dirty pirate (nothing against pirates, but my main source of in game money is killing the scum bags ) interdicts you because he sees you as a weak target, it would then be great a great experience and shock for the pirate to see this loan traders 3 mates turn up (( see the bounty bribes as well as a possible means of escaping getting attacked by the traders escort. on the flip side a bounty hunter who interdicts a pirate could also suffer the same fate
so I can already hear the anti-pirate hate posts saying "Its hard enough to be a pirate already".. Don't worry I have thought of that as well. should a wing of pirates kill a bounty hunter I think for the fact they are defending themselves against an attack they should get some kind of reward for winning. I.E a percentage of the current bounty claims yet to be claimed.
now onto the non-lethal options
2) pirates should be able to offer bounty hunters funds to leave them alone or bounty hunters should be able to ask for said payment, the payment would have to be agreed upon in a textbox or something similar to the wing invite yes or no and only paid when one of the players or npc or player has left the system ( this is to prevent the I will take your money then claim your bounty trick which would occur), for wings of players the money would be shared between the wing and do the same for pirates who have a bounty hunter in their site
This would make interaction with players a little better.. the only interaction I have had is people demanding cargo, where I would prefer if I am trading and get caught by a pirate just the be able to offer money instead of cargo, then I know how much I am losing.
Also police can scan a vessel for stolen goods, why cant a player?
