Open Voice Channels

Hubs and Systems need open voice channels. They'd have them in space, why doesn't ED?

When I find myself in a system with a few other players, I don't feel like going through the rigamarole to individually hail each one; I just want to be able to pop on an open channel and say "Howdy, Commanders, what's going on in this neck of space today?"

Give players the ability to individually toggle both outgoing and incoming communications between wing and open comms and allow hotkey assignment:

• Wing incoming on/off
• Wing outgoing on/of
• Local incoming on/off
• Local outgoing on/off

This would make it a lot easier to coordinate and collaborate with other players. Allow muting of individual players, and I think nobody would have any reason to complain.

Space is lonely, and quiet, and socially awkward. Let's change that.

This is a great idea. On the cannon cg this would have helped massively. The station was mad busy, and cmdrs had to use the text box comma to inform others of an in or outbound t9, condo or cutter.

I included had to get my t9 safely in and out.
This would have been so much easier.

There is a coms mute toggle key presently which only works in a wing. you should be able to tune in once in the 7.5k range to speak on a station channel ...

Lets hope DEV agree

I forgot to mention you wouldn't have to tune if you don't want that chatter

I just though, I want VR. Without a local commas channel there is no way for somebody using VR to type a message to join in. VR needs this to operate like a true spaceship.

I wish there was a VR glove to use the keyboard in the cockpit.

I went to Mobius after getting exploded many times by random Salty Boys Clubbers and Harry-Hard-ons... but this would actually bring me back to Open.

Having Open-Coms in CG's, Starports, Res's, etc... would inject a badly needed layer of fun and socialization that would add some real unique value to Open mode.

You've got my vote!
