Opening Elite Dangerous From Steam instead of Oculus

By any chance, is there any way I can open Elite Dangerous from Steam instead of the Oculus Launcher? Its been literally 1 Month and half since I've been able to launch into the game (Since the Fleet Carrier Update) and I haven't been able to get my ticket resolved from Frontier as to why I keep having a Server Authentication issue. It shouldn't be taking this long for Frontier to get back with me. Ive been playing Elite Dangerous for 3 years and haven't had any issues til now. What is going on???

What happens if you use the games own launcher?

I can’t start the game with the Oculus software running.

So I start Elite from the game’s own launcher

This then opens the Oculus software for me, and runs it just fine.

It sounds like you purchased the game originally in the oculus store, correct? Check your frontier account via the store, FDev a while ago offered steam keys if one wanted to 'switch' over, you might have one.

Per https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=200:

Log into the Frontier Store and go to 'My Account'.
Click on ‘Partner Keys

If it's going to be anywhere, it should be there.

Okay I just gave this a try and got the Product Keys I needed. How do I actually see Elite Dangerous on Steam or input the keys into steam? I thought it would automatically update onto steam unless im missing a step?

I've also bought Elite from the Oculus Rift store and want to switch to Steam. I did get the product key and added Elite to the Steam library. Now there's a big INSTALL button. Do i have to uninstall the Oculus version and then reinstall in Steam? It is 32,5 GB so if there's any way to use the already installed version that would be wonderful! Is that possible?

I've managed to run elite through steam vr and stopping oculus home opening by disabling the ovr services in task manager. This now allows me to run elite dangerous via virtual desktop over wifi to my quest 2. However the touch controls won't work in elite dangerous but work in the steam vr home screen. Anyone know how to get elite to regognise that touch controls are avaliable?
