Opentrack, FaceTrackNoIR does not recognize E:D (Steam)

Hi CMDRs!

My problem is the following:

I managed to get my smartphone working with Opentrack software. I did everything as described. I managed to get the octopus moving so data is getting transmitted. Same applies to FaceTrackNoIR.

I launch the game, I have steam version and nothing happens. Neither of the two softwares recognizes E:D.

I read that i have to update a csv file, I already did that, and nothing happens.

Maybe it's a compatibility thing with the steam version?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Try starting elite first, alt tab out and start opentrack. Also check the settings for the open track plugin in the UI, make sure it is enabling the trackIR dummy exe.

yeah i have a followup question about that... (don't want to strap my phone on my head) I have played around with TrackNOIR as well, but in face recogniiton mode. I had two seperate problems:

1st: My Webcam is pretty bad. I think i got it cheap back in 2001 and i like to play in a poorly lit room, which doesn't help the face recognition either. However i DID see a mode in the TrackNOIR software which you can use to track a headmount or something like that... I was wondering if i could mod my Headset to replace that headmount by putting stickers on it that the camera can easyly spot... something reflective or with fluorecent color. Do you think that works? Can i setup TrackNoIR accordingly? I don't have the software available now to test around. Does anyone know a link to a guide?

2nd: When i played around with the facetracker i never really got it to work with ED. It did do something to my game: It looked like the game is constantly switching between headlook mode on and off. It was flickering like crazy. First i thought i had enabled some mode for shutter glasses. Until i realised that one set of frames actually was tracking what TrackNoIR sent to the game and the other one was the default orientation.

Also: I kinda like the fact that, when head look mode is off, the game zooms a little to the canopy. Is there any hidden property to have the same zoom factor in headlook mode? because i don't need one 3rd of the screen covered by the cockpit when in a dogfight.
