Operation Miner Earth Major Sky - Deployment of DSSA carrier TMCV Castus

Hello commanders,
It is with great pride that I'm announcing the expansion of our glorious miners cooperative into the Outer Arm.

Behold our second deployable vessel, the TMCV Castus

As part of the DSSA it will act as a beacon of sanity for all commanders out in the western reaches, providing a bar suppling both alcoholic drinks and spacespresso, lodging space, exobiology, cartographics and redemption sevices, as well as shipyard and outfitting for any CMDRs wishing to bring their ships over to this side of the galaxy.
Last but not least and in traditional TMCV fashion, Castus will act as a tritium depot to any carriers needing fuel, as well as nearby tritium mining opportunities, should available stock not be sufficient.

The carrier is scheduled for departing on the 29th of April, from Duamta. The schedule does not allow for an extended journey, so the trip will be fast and the timelines may be subject ot change, but waypoints will stay and are as outlined below.

WP1Planet of Slightly Lesser Death
WP2Tri2 Stop / Carnation Nebula / DSSA Cygni-Vanguard
WP3Mene Tekel
WP4Temporary parking spot

The trip is expected to last one week, as well as an extra week for on-spot scouting for a final position. On the whole, it will be around 90 jumps and is expected to use around 11000t of Tritium, with an estimated 8000t starting supply available.

Any CMDRs are free to join us on this endeavour, or at least to comment on it below :).

Thanks for the info, but I wasn't planning on stopping there for refueling, more as a pit-stop. Although, now that you mention it, we will check if it needs some fuel.

Operation Report #1

Castus has finally left the Bubble, in a timely manner but with little fanfare. The first leg of our journey took us out of the bubble and right into the arms of The Planet of Slightly Lesser Death. Our timing upon arrival here was quite unfortunate as the planet was just hours away from passing through the cone of its parent White Dwarf.

The crew had barely time to prepare, but it was irelevant because instead of preparations they decided to risk the radiation damage and just hang at the bar instead.

Personnel has now had their medical evaluations and are now undergoing emergency audits, but so far no penalty has been applied mainly due to the evaluators acknowledging the fact that any sustained dose of radiation would far outweigh any monetary or career-related penalty. However it has been decided that any extra limbs will be removed and confiscated.

Leg 2 of the journey was extremely long and had to be split up to allow the crew a day of rest. The Destination: Boeppy SA-P b9-0. A welcoming spot for exploring the nearby Carnation Nebula and allowing the resident tritium mining crew to do their thing.

Sadly the nebula did not reveal any undiscovered phenomena or rare organic life, and in all appearances has been thoroughly explored long before our arrival in the system. The tritium overlap also proved underwhelming, with actual yields being below expected yields for similar tritium hotspot layouts. The carrier crew however, received a three day respite and the small but perseverent mining crew managed a good yield despite the difficulties. Thank you CMDR TimboNZ for contributing to the refuelling effort.

The third leg of the journey was a detour to one of galaxy's more impressive sights: Mene Tekel. Few sights look as imposing as a gaze upon this monster of a system from the deck of a carrier. Overall the detour was quite short but worth its tritium, and we are now firmly on our way to the final destination sector.

Final leg of the trip for the old gal. After a few dozen quick jaunts from Mene Tekel it is now resting in Koijai HZ-W b3-0, pending precise deployment position. The hard part is over for the carrier itself and the crew is eagerly awaiting information on the final jump destination. The scouting teams and jovian researchers have started conducting a sector survey, which is expected to last up to a week. Good luck CMDRs!

Operation Report #5 - Final

After a week of scouting the destination column the resident scouting crew managed to map more than 400 new systems in the Koijai sector. While many of the systems presented tritium mining opportunities, few had unseen vistas or interesting layouts and even fewer provided the oh so coveted tritium overlaps.

In the end, the list of candidates was just 6 systems short:

1 An IW with a tritium rich ring but only single hotspots
2 A Class 1 GG with a single tritium horspot and a close pair of moons orbiting the ring in close proximity
3 A Class 1 GG triple with a single tritium hotspot
4 A Class 1 GG pair with a weak overlap and a lot of single hotspots
5 A Class 1 GG with a weak overlap and a moon in close proximity
6 A Hot Jupiter

Function over form prevailed and the destination system was chosen in #4 - Koijai QN-V b5-0 and consequently, the carrier has been deployed in orbit around its only moon, Koijai QN-V b5-0 11 A.

Castus will remain in DSSA service in this position until 2025-05-15, providing travellers with rest, warm showers and a diverse offering of rare and no-so-rare alcoholic beverages. For tourists there are sauna and fumarole-jumping opportunities on the ground, as well as mile high canyons for ship racing.

Finally and most importantly, the carrier has been enlisted as a STAR depot and will provide Tritium for passing carriers as well as optimum tritium mining opportunities in ring B. For more information find us on the FCOC discord server, under channel #163.
Welcome to Taylor's Shoulder commanders!

Thank you CMDR Daftpunkdad, CMDR Enigmatic and CMDR TimboNZ for all the help an support provided on this trip! o7
