Opinions on the Savannah pack?

In an another thread I talked about the scenery pack and animal pack counterparts, so I think the Savannah pack would be a great scenery pack counterpart of the Grasslands animal pack.

The roster would look like this:

This pack would be nice to at least get some of the animals missing from the Grasslands and Arid packs into the game +with a brand new scenery.

I don't know what the ideal new scenery should be for the Savanna pack, but these animals would look well for this pack:

With that roster 100%

As much as i want the naked mole rat i don't know if it is the best fit for a savannah pack. I will rather get a snake or an australian reptile.

Also i personally would love the african leopardbut maybe a monkey will be better rather than another big cat that is not actually common in captivity.

I think an animal pack is a better fit for a savanah pack but so was the tropical pack and oh well...

For an animal pack roster:

1. Blackbuck
2. Greater kudu
3. Secretary bird
4. Serval
5. Greater rhea
6. A primate: vervet monkey, patas monkey, olive baboon or grey langur
7. Honey badger
8. Black bamba, indian cobra or frilled lizard

I really don't see this happening, it's really similar to Grasslands. The Secretary Bird is probably the biggest "draw" in this kind of pack, and we know how the situation with birds has been going. Not that I wouldn't like it, I would definitely buy it, but I just think the theme has already been covered.

I could see potential in a Safari pack if this were to be a scenery pack. In that case I'd go for another African-centred pack with maybe the kudu, nile crocodile and/or honey badger. I don't think we need an African leopard, but a serval would be welcome.

I accept your opinions, but I think the African leopard would be fine in the game, since this is the most iconic leopard subspecies and by the ZT nostalgia (also, in the ZT2 there are the black variety of the African leopard as a bonus animal).

The Savannah pack wouldn't necessarily be a continent-based pack, but there would be mostly African animals in it, although it would be more mixed in terms of continents than the Arid animal pack and at least there would be birds in it.

That I know and agreed. In Zoo Tycoon, the spotted leopard's terrain and location was only African savanna while the black one's was Asian Rainforest. Both ZT and ZT2 had all of Big Five of Africa and that's one of those parts I like about those game.

Now that you mention it, alright. I accept your opinion, especially the African leopard. I agreed with that. I too hoped for that. Any questions?

Aquatic and Wetland Animal packs were similar except Wetland Animal Pack had only freshwater swimmers and no saltwater swimmers.

Anyway, did Planet Zoo designers and planners knew about that opinion of yours?

In my opinion this would be a great pack, however, I would alter the rhea with another animal (e.x. Patagonian Mara, Marsh deer, and other South American species).

This is only because the game already has the emu, ostrich, and cassowary. And I think birds are kinda out of the question in general when it comes to Planet Zoo.

That's just my personal opinion, other than that I would love to see this pack in Planet Zoo/

If this was a scenery pack, what would be the appropriate new scenery for it?

I have no idea, since the base game already we have African and Indian scenery.
Anyone knew about the 4x4 Adventure Tour? Safari tram ride. Did that had enough African-style stuffs or any other decorations and stuffs? That would be ideal for another/more African ideas.

And I was wondering. If/Should the next DLC pack have no sceneries but just new animals, would the timing of when next DLC packs will be release be lesser and/or shortened? Like from three months to less than three months?

I'm not exactly sure how a savannah pack would work out when we already have the bulk of iconic savannah species, 2 african packs and a grasslands pack. Personally the lineup itself is fairly lackluster with the only interesting addition is the naked molerat which would be a really interesting exhibit addition with new mechanics that could be added. If a savannah pack would be added it would really need to be a animal pack since a building theme for general savannah was one of the key base game themes.

If you're sticking with scenery pack, then village-type construction pieces and safari jeeps would be some inclusions. In terms of plants, maybe Feathergrass or Bunchgrass. Also if this was Frontier creating the pack they would probably input nests as well, rather than burrows and average bedding.

I wouldn’t mind this but, please no African Leopard. They’re so visually similar to Amurs that it would just be a waste.

Replace it with a more notable and unique carnivore like the Serval, Honey Badger, or something else.

Besides that, I’m on board.

Well, the Amur leopard had a 'fluffier' tail and thicker fur unlike some other subspecies. And didn't the Amur leopards in Planet Zoo looked more orange than yellow? African leopard (or some other subspecies) could be yellow-like.

And in Planet Zoo, how could we tell Bengal and Siberian tigers apart beside biome and temperature adaptations? Also grizzly and brown bears beside maybe fur colors?

I would definitely like to see a Serval or honey badger, and having more exhibit species that are not just insects or snakes would add so much more variety. There is so much potential, and some exhibit species could add to the walkthrough exhibit numbers to increase it from 3 (Bat, Butterfly, Sloth)

Well, there were some Exhibit genera that weren't there. Toads, chameleons, cobras and geckos. Could smaller rodents be there?

Replacing the African Leopard with the Serval and I would be perfectly happy with that Pack. I am Happy that Frontier does Not give us any subspecies of already existing animals within the game since the Australia Pack and I personally hope this will be further the case in future DLC.

What if I disagree with that?
