Option to drop out of SC farther from station than normal.

Hello everybody, today I was thinking about Beta 1, and how we used to jump out at 20km from the station, because player interdiction did not exist. i was thinking, is there a problem with creating an option to drop out at a predetermined distance? Currently it's 10km, so that should be the closest you can set it, and then you can change it to be farther. I would personally set it somewhere from 25-35km, I like the slow fly-in to the station, not the current triple boost and flip into the slot with my Cobra.

Is there any game-breaking problems with this? I'd really like to see this.
 
Well it's not very precise, and you have to sort of miss the station, which breaks the immersion. And, this is mostly about immersion for me.

I am right there with you, I need the immersion. That's why I have tried to learn the best distance to start slowing down at certain speeds to get to the perfect spot to disengage SC.
 
Yea they need to increase it again. Especially as you can instantly crash in to the back of some stations as you arrive, because it seems to be distance to the hanger rather than body of the station :/

Also the NPCs still arrive at 20km+. They never bothered to change those.

Holy crap I can't believe that has happened! I thought the game just immediately dropped you at a safe distance when you drop out of SC.
 
I like the idea of a final sprint in normal space to the station. 50km is maybe too much for the slower ships but 30km seems ok. This could be space occupied by station patrols, pirates, black marketers, smugglers, hitchhikers and the like.
