option to obfuscate or disable sharing location with friends list

can we have an option to either disable location sharing with people on your friends list or a way to obfuscate it and only give a general location instead of a specific system (maybe a broad sector location or somewhere within a 500ly radius of where you actually are)

this feature strikes me as being open to abuse if people want to shadow you by having you add them to your friends list.

This was used to track people before, I'm favour of at least having an option to obfuscate the exact system you're in.

I'd support this if, when set, the position obfuscation worked both ways, i.e. if ones position is obfuscated then so are those for all CMDRs on ones friends list.

I find with that sort of friend you get far more use out of knowing where they are than they do out of knowing where you are.

It would be nice to be able to categorise the list, though
- expedition friends
- squadron friends
- people I met at a CG once
- people who will probably attack
- people who hang around in the same systems as I do

This is a problem from the Facebook generation, "be my friend" "NO! get the hell away from me ya muppet"

Perhaps ED should add a category for 'acquaintances' and others that you may have spoken with but refuse to shower with!
