Option to store ship mods/weapons

Fellow Commanders, is there any particular reason that we can`t store bought equipment in stations?
I know that reason behind storing goods/cargo is to prevent "hoarding" apparently - no problem with that.

But - I think it would not harm gameplay/lore/immersion if we could for example store up to 5 ship mods in station.
It would be useful if I for example decide that I want to quick refit my Cobra from bounty hunter version into the mining one - without buying new stuff and selling old ones.

I think the general idea is to store another ship kitted out for a task, but with the Cobra being multi task would be a nice addition.

Yes, but for me for example managing two different ships is difficult at the moment because I'm exploring and constantly changing places.

It would have to be the same for stored equipment too. You would have to return to your base to re-equip. Equipment cannot just follow you about.

Armory. Equally to stored ships in shipyard, stored inventory in fitting bay. And functions to transfer stored ships and armory from one base to another via ordering NPC with some payment and time to transfer without direct player's participation.

I was wondering this myself. Since we are limited to one account to play on, and we use a multi-role ship, we should be able to store the modules to switch back and forth. I'd have no problem with the mods staying at one base.

Maybe, somewhere down the road, they can incorporate shipping in the game so that you could have your ships and modules moved to other sites. And hopefully they don't get pirated! lol

Storing purchased equipment negates the money sink.

thats why it should be limited to for example 4/5 mods stored at once or something similar. Everyone is all the time about "the immersion" and it breaks my "immersion" if I cant put my gun next to my ship in this big hangar :)

Jut think of the bounty when hitting a ship transport....

Bumping this thread...

I also hit a brick wall as far as "immersion" goes when i realized how modules are being handled.
I don't understand how carrying your own modules around would be bad for business when you have limited ship cargo space.
Or even better if business is the problem here then allow me to rent hanger space. Money flows and i get to keep some good modules. Till i blow up with them.

My problem started when i realized what a bad idea it was for me to sell my "B Rating Fuel Scoop" thinking i'll find another one. Well i can't, it seems.
