It would be ace if they did something actually good though.
There's an old game called UPLINK which did hacking really really well.
One of the things it did was voi e recognition for getting into stuff, you called a guy up and recorded their voice then used it to bypass the voice check.
Could do that with different access level guys and that's just one example.
The point of all this would be to:
Get deeper into the network where there are more (and rarer) data files. And access the network of other bases nearby.
Allow you to get access to the base defences and change their friend foe set up.
Find information about secret caches (and the Odyssey drug caches) and their locations.
This would all be optional as it gives you additional stuff.
Obviously, messing it up could set off an alarm, or even directly call in reinforcements even if you shut the alarm down, because you accessed a deeper level of the network, potentially off site.
