Why do we have in-game interior space divided into compartments? Why not make a common space with an indication of the maximum possible compartment?
1. If the cauldron has 7, you can't put a compartment higher.
2. If there are 2 fourths then takes the ship away (to a new engineer) and he remodels 2 fourths into 1 fifth, etc.
As far as I understand it looks no effect on the game, on 3d models, etc. ie changes (except for the design of the new engineer) will be minimal.
Like in the game Prey (new) there is the size of the backpack and you can put items there according to size as long as there is room.
