Options for animals to eat from wild plants?

I would really like this. It would really help the Zookeepers because they don't need to feed the Animals as often as they need it at the Moment. The Animals in my newest Enclosure are often hungry before they get Food again and they could graze or eat from Trees and Bushes until the Zookeeper arrives. Maybe some herbivourous Animals that are small and live alone or in a small Group wouldn't need to be fed at all if the Enclosure would be big enough.
I really like this idea, it could be a new research branch for keepers maybe? Or they could introduce a new staff member - a grounds keeper - who's in charge of maintaining the plants in and out of the habitats who could research different food types.

I would imagine it's a realism issue. Real zoos don't tend to plant edible plants in animal exhibits because managing how much an animal eats is an important part of zoo husbandry. In saying that, real zoos also don't tend to have plants from all over the world because they're hard-to-impossible to actually maintain; typically they'll use local plants that look like they could be from, say, a jungle. The exception of course is when they put in those big greenhouses and whatnot.
I had hoped that Planet Zoo might address this prior to release, but it's not a big deal anyway. Instead of plants being from a specific place, we could have just had biome-specific plants that are "generic".

As long as they dont eat the whole plant/destroy it completely.
I know it is unrealistic, but I would hate to design plants in my habitat just to be eaten completly by animals. In ZT2 some species could actually eat some smaller plants and they never grew back. I was slightly annoyed when my javan rhinos ate all the plants in their habitat that I carefuly placed there.

That was my thought exactly, in ZT2 they could just destroy everything and the foliage would just literally disappear. That wouldn’t be a good development. But taking berries or other fruit might be nice.
