Greetings. Been considering changing up my Orca to get a taste of mining. Can’t seem to find any builds, but have seen recommendations for it. I know there are better ships, just want to try it out for now. Anyone have some build advice?
Maybe something like this get's you into mining without having too much to spend. But I just slapped some mining gear on, leaving you with 96t cargo capacity and only 3 collectors but with a full set of scanners to maybe go mining in systems you didn't explore before.
Edit/P.S.: because of the only 3 collectors one mining laser should be enough to keep the limpets busy... It's not a real strip miner as you see...
The Orca is an excellent mining ship. It can power two medium mining lasers, especially with some engineering to the PD. This one has 8 active collectors and a 1A prospector.
Note to Kimosabe. Never use a prospector that isn't A-rated. Otherwise you don't get the full benefit of the fragment increase.
Thanks for reminding me Limoncello Lizard and actually I'm doing that on my own mining Python.
But as I said - or at least tried to... - that linked Orca is just a quick shot on how I'd make one if I had to. Funny thing, I already had outfitted a 3A PLC at first, don't know exactly why I changed that though...
