What is your maximum jump range with a engineered FSD? Im thinking about heading to SOL and getting on just to load up on passenger missions. Any advice/tips/tricks? Thanks in advance

Nice. Now approx how long would you say it takes to do those 5000ly journeys?

I need to unlock palin ... figured id take some people with me and make some money lol

Great idea, I did the same for Palin, try to get 2 missions to the same destination. Also, it seems that the paths to the passenger missions targets are mostly undiscovered, so you can do a lot of addtional cash by scanning and naming the more valuable planets that will be close to the sun.

In my ~40kly AspX I need about 40 minutes for each 1kly with some moderate stops for scanning planets. But the scoop is also important if you don't want to waste time.

For me it's usually about 1000ly/20 minutes (just honk-jumping) or on average 2000LY/h if I stop to scan interesting things.

Sweet thanks a lot. Yea im in an asp now and could do it fairly eaisly i think but i want to get the extra bonus for grabbing a few passangers

I don't think that was a God roll, and it depends on how heavy the rest of you fit is. Mine current roll is like:

And it's still not God Roll like. My fit is heavy, so I guess you can have much more with optimizing some parts :)

I'm kind of surprised by the difference between the time it takes me to do 1kly and the time mentioned by Chris Simon, well, maybe I messed something up or took too much time scanning? Strange :)

36Ly jump range on my Orca, took two sightseeing missions to the same destination. Took three (real) days and approx. 920 jumps. I made about 80M, including cart data, but man, I was tired when I got home. :)

Uhh wow on that roll!

I get 38.55/36.17 with shields, luxury and first class cabins with a decent but not great roll.
I also have the whole thing engineered; lightweight sensors, life support etc.

Do you have a bunch of lightweight stuff on your other mods?

yea was going to ask the other guy if he had shields on that or not. i struggled to get abouve 40 on my max and he has 45 lol

I'm not sure, it was the first ship I modded, so I pretty much accepted whatever was mostly blue, lol. The Powerplant is overcharged, the drives are Clean Drives and the 5D shield is optimized. I might have gotten some lightweight secondaries but can't check it right now. I guess it's easier to just look at the mass that is visible on the screen. If it's higher than yours than my modules weight more :D

Coming back to the topic. I would probably prefer the Orca for the explorer passenger missions. Easier to fit the two cabins and shield and large scoop. And 35-37kly isn't to shabby.

Max seen is +57% so you defenetly have a god roll, not maxed out, but still a god roll.

If you're wanting to get your 5kLy done quickly - I'd suggest using https://www.spansh.co.uk/plotter with your best range jumper (and best fuel scoop with an AFM). It'd be done in no time (well - relatively)

Mine is good for 50ly in a relatively heavy exploration fit. That drops to about 43ly if the cargo racks are swapped out for two cabins, a class 5 and class 6.
