Orca v Diamondback Scout

Playing around in beta as you do and got interdicted by an Orca!
Now I have flown the Orca and no way it can turn inside a cobra never mind a Diamondback.

I did a little experiment with each stock ship and the best thrusters available for a full 360 degree pitch manoeuvre.
Orca 12 seconds
Diamondback 9 seconds

I came a cross someone in Beta and I couldn't turn this Commander in the Orca, very suspicious to say the least.
He logged quite rapidly when I asked how he was managing this.

Ticket popped in anyway.

This may strike you as strange, but I've never - for even one second - considered the Orca. It's the ship I know the least about, simply because I think it looks like Shamu. And I have no desire to ride Shamu into a spaceport.

So my vote would go to the Diamondback simply based on a subjective and highly biased process of elimination.

How were you trying to out turn him? Could he have been flying backward? If he was able to get you in a position where you were trying to turn in a large circle compared to his smaller circle, as happens when someone is flying backward, he would out turn you.

You can get some pretty wierd looking manoevres if you use the thrusters in addition to boost too.

This ^. I fly a Python and I take full advantage of vertical, lateral, and normal throttle thrusters with full analog support. The benefit is that I get a much higher level of manuevering control and speed out of the ship when combined with things like full reverse to minimize an opponents speed advantage.

The question I have is, were you simply not able to get out of the front side of the Orca, or was the Orca able to stay on your six and out of your firing arc completely?
