Original Elite for PSVR/Oculus Quest Please

With No Mans Sky now getting a full VR version, it would be really cool if Frontier could release the original Wire Frame 1984 Elite on PSVR and/or Oculus Quest. I get it that Elite Dangerous may not be able to run on PS4 PSVR/Oculus Quest but it would be so great to experience a VR Elite on these platforms.

I just want the option to experience a version of Elite in VR without spending an outrageous amount on a high end PC.

It would be a great way for Frontier to return to their roots and celebrate their anniversary.

What's everybody's thoughts.

Personally (and I've thought about this previously), I'd love a VR version of Frontier:Elite2...

Keeping the same low polygon assets, with modern hardware you could have so many more of them. Imagine ascending from an atmo planet, seeing all the Bezier-curve clouds (and shadows) and mountains into the distance, large cities etc.

Looking at modern retro looking games, simple pixel-art and sprite based games can look awesome with some lighting effects and shaders.

Frontier (E:2) perhaps; the original? I'm not sure how it'd work without the whole game being rebuilt (with 3D cockpits for example). Might make for an interesting experience, but I think Frontier would be awesome in VR, much like the original Doom is.

I’ve just been having a ponder, and one of the reasons I thought original Elite wouldn’t work too well is that wireframe graphics wouldn’t give a decent sense of scale. Then I thought that the nightvision mode in ED is essentially that and gives a perfectly massive feeling.

I think using a striking visual style, in this case monochrome wireframe, might look quite impressive in VR. There’s only Rez I can think of that’s done it, oh, and the bonus classic mode in Battlezone.

I’d want planetary landings though, so maybe make those a bit like Rescue On Fractalus, or Captain Blood? :)
