Osmium in Colonia

Trying to unlock Marsha Hicks in Colonia and despite making quite a lot of money mining I can't find Osmium anywhere, please can someone point me in the right direction?

Preferably in Colonia because I'm here right now!

You have to mine it from metallic or metal rich rings.

Try pristine metallic. EDDB lists many.

Colonia 4 A ring
Colonia 7 A ring

It helps to have a DSS to fire missiles and find the hotspots. Also prospector limpets so one doesn't waste
time on asteroids that they don't need to farm.

You usually get it in metallic rings, sounds like you are just unlucky.

I have no idea whether the recent changes have affected this but the pristine metallic ring around the planet that Jacqes station orbits used to be swimming in the stuff, I pulled hundreds of tons of it out of there for the CG to repair the station when it first jumped there.

It's very common in metallic rings - when I was doing this unlock, I dropped into a metallic ring, and the first three rocks I prospected all had Osmium, so that was that. Took me longer to pick up my mining ship and move it there in the first place...

I've found lots of void opals in icy rings... This may be where I've gone wrong! On the plus side I've made enough to be relaxed about shipping my Corvette out here!
