OSVR native support?

Hi,
can someone just clarify?
I'm sure i read somewhere that native support of the OSVR won't come to ED by all means,
can't find that post again.
Is there a reason behind that? Just because open source?

dont know about native support, is steamvr playable?
or did you get osvr working with ED in SBS mode inc head and motion tracking?

how does it compare to the e2?

sorry pal, can't comment on that as of now. i fubared some things up, it seems. i'll give it another go this evening, will report back if i get it running.
arrived yesterday, so had only a few hours in, mostly reading reddit and osvr forum... it's definately no comsumer product, yet.
but the hardware is promising, think it will fit me way better than the deepoon.

need to do further testing with various core/steamvr-plugins, but i can already say that
steamvr is working, playable, BUT positional tracking is 'jumpy', to say the least.
some claim they have it working, but all of their solutions did not work for me.
seems to be a known issue, note that osvr-steamvr-plugin is just in alpha state.
the whole thing clearly is a work in progress, and i wouldn't recommend it to a casual gamer.
techie-types will like it, though. image quality is clearly better than a dk2/deepoon.
fov is a bit low, 100°, but i saw them working on ultra-wide lenses, 150°, no eta as of today.
sure as heck will get them.
will report further findings.
