Other CMDRs stealing my bounty

Because the cops then turn on you clearly.

Cops don't appear in HazRes and if you're that worried about your credits per hour that you cant lose one or two bounties you should be farming in a HazRes. Still it's honestly not even a big bounty shooting down another commander and it makes your point really clearly that you dont share bounties.

The system itself though isnt broken in anyway. It is no different than bounty hunting Irl eg. Someone else tracks the mark and beats him and while they are catching their breath you swoop in cuff the mark and haul him in, bail bonds pay you and I not the guy who did all the leg work. Is it morally wrong YES but that is the world we live in and the world used as a base for ED.

I'm not sure that really happens. Plus, there are no space ships and the mark isn't being blown up in your analogy.

That does happen alot Bounty hunting is ridiculously cut throat. Lack of space ships and death doesnt change the accuracy of my analogy though.
End of the day the party that lodged the bounty only pays the cmdr or wing who takes the guy down, they don't care who did the leg work. Which means it does work like the real world and makes sense. I can see it hurting your credits per hour but that doesn't mean its not working properly just that FD chose for it to be logic based instead of credits based, which you will find FD has done alot in this game.
I highly suggest you take a good look at how the game mechanics work and accept them for what they are, as they most likely wont be changing and that means you will need to be more accepting to them or possibly look for a different space sim that suits your wants better.

and then stealing it at the last minute.

It cant be called "stealing" because "the kill" did not "belong" to you in the first place.

Apparently FDev decided to award the kill to the pilot/wing who applies the last bit of damage befor the vessel explodes.

Its funny to see this VERY same discussion pop up in almost all games where someone can shoot at something or someone else and get some sort of "reward" for it.
There always seems to pop up this sort of feeling "pre-entitlement" to "owning" the rewards of kiling spomething, when the game clearly only does awars the results at a later date and mainly with a different distribution scheme than the "pre-entitled-person" expected.

As others in this thread already suggested: either you move on.. make HIM move on. "Go blaze your own trail" (or blaze his tail)

Another solution if you think everything in the game should "belong" to you just because you saw it first and licked it first: (I promise you wont have a problem with kill stealing anymore except bad npcs stealing from you)

Whether it's a waste of time or not is down to the individual doing it. You don't get to define waste of time for anyone but yourself.

I define waste of time by the numbers in the game. You can pretend whatever you like, but you will be further along if you do it solo.

Ok boss. Or I could make a suggestion to the devs and see what they say ;)

Well if that's your intention friend then might I suggest using the suggestions part of the forum next time rather than the salt mines. Might help your case if you re write it though to be a bit more suggestion like and less whiny, would encourage devs to read it rather than dismiss it.

Either way I've left my 2 cents and advice, fly safe and eat rebuys with pride cmdr O7.

How is it sanitizing the game? Some people are dullards.

Do you have to resort to name calling if you don't like the answers?

There is a clue in the name of the game, isn't there?
Just because your in a RES and are first to shoot a target does not make it yours exclusively.
In open play you're competing with other players, so take you chances.
If it's too hot in the kitchen, play solo!

I hate to break it to you bud, but playing games is "a waste of time".

You see, I play games to have fun....to enjoy it. And I enjoy my play far more in Open.

I can see where our disagreement lies though, as you play Elite to watch numbers go up.

Cheers (y)

I was gonna mention this earlier but thought I was already bringing enough to the table ;)

End of the day, we're talking about an activity that revolves around the vigilante destruction of ships/pilots that have committed multiple acts of theft and murder (a 200k bounty Conda has committed nearly fourty murders). If your response to someone elbowing in on your space is complain there's no non-damaging ways of discouraging them, I suspect it's ultimately not the job for you: try something with 9-5 hours and a solid worker's union.

There is a solo mode you know, players can't steal bounties there.

Yup. Don't understand these folks who play in open and then complain about something they don't like. If I were to play in open, then whatever happens, good or bad, I deserve.

Like strolling into the 'bad' part of town at night. Unarmed. If you die, it's your fault for being there in the first place.

I'll see myself out...

In my experience, bounty hunting in a wing is actually far more lucrative and more fun, especially if someone brings a KWS.

And if someone is kill-stealing? Wing up or warn them off.
