"Other" surface signals not showing in nav panel

I found a world with 23 geological single and one "other"

The one "Other" did not appear in the nav panel

Is this a bug? Or any ideas how to find it?

Thanks

Hi! Yes I've been experiencing this as well. Map a planet or moon to 100% with probes, then it shows me 20-something geological POIs which are on the left navigation panel, and then sometimes it also says "Other (1)" in the FSS but that doesn't show in the nav panel. When looking around the planet from orbit, I never see this extra target spot anywhere on the planets surface.

Caveat:
The most recent time I saw it was late last night, I mapped Deciat 6 (B?), the moon Farseer Inc is on. I wonder if her base counted as that "Other (1)"?

That's super interesting, I've not seen that yet on any planet.

Is it a large planet? Have you already turned in the data to get your tag? This might require a mass expedition to find that "other" surface location!!!

Yeah, definitely interesting. I've never seen "other" so it might be something undiscovered, unless someone else can confirm finding them.

Check if there's an Installation or a Megaship in orbit around the planet/moon. I had this to and after a fruitless search I came to the conclusion it had to be the Installation that was in a reasonably low orbit, that counted as the other 'surface source'.

Btw, there's all sorts of Installations and ships in many systems now, with funky names. I like it. :)

Yeah I saw the "other" being mentioned when I was in the beta in the Maia system, when they where trying the Thargoid incursion stuff. I thought it was a bug but never heard anything more so figured they where onto it.

Actually I had this happen to me in Shinrarta Dezhra. It was on the engineer planet. I'm assuming the reason I can't see the "Other" is because its actually the Engineer Lori Jaimeson who I haven't unlocked yet? That's a guess though. :)

Edit: Just saw Black Cat's post. So this now seems likely.

I'm seeing the "Other" signal at Lucifer in Sirius, home of Marco Qwent. Seems like it must be related to the Engineer's base, though why that would be Other and not Human is odd. @Wargrum, I do have access to Qwent, so it's not having not unlocked them that causes this.

I'm not 100% sure but I heard the "other" signals may be related to some missions and appears as "other" unless you have the actual mission.

It seems as though the "OTHER" notable signal marker is indeed related to the engineer on the planet, from the comments above and the fact that I'm currently sitting in Pater's Memorial with Juri Ishmaak it seems likely that the 'other' is the engineer, although when you count the human notable signals to the bases on the planet the number seems to include the engineer as well, so someone at FDev can't count or maybe the engineers are human cyborgs or something :)

I suspect because there's usually also a mission required to gain access to engineers, so maybe that registers as a signal as well.

The thread is old but the info is relevant at least.

I'd already unlocked the engineer and was there at a re-visit so there goes the mission theory - When I seen the "Other" listing I thought there may be something interesting to go investigate, sadly no... That's how I found this thread in the fist place.
