Alright, I have been playing with the map for about oh, an hour and my head is now spinning.
Our galaxy is enormous! It's beyond words, beyond magnificence. First I have a real pointed question: Are there stations way out there? (What about the other side of the galaxy?) My avatar is of the Heart Nebula (which in-game by the way only vaguely represents the nebula) and I'd love to fly out there.
It's far. 6500 light years away (though interestingly, in-game it says 7500 light years.)
A couple other things, this is all very great and phenomenal work by Frontier. However, there are some inaccuracies which I can understand are for the sake of time or what have you. But will these things be improved? An example would be Jupiter's rings are extremely similar to Saturn's. Looking at the Heart and Soul Nebula here, it seems this was a similar case, as they are very much the same shape just inverted and rotated. Or were they? I can't honestly tell, I'm just saying what it seems like.
Other details like Orion's Nebula and such are very well done *applause* and I hope to visit them, too.
Thanks!
