As us Hudson pledgers have no doubt noticed, the Federation is under significant threat, besieged and undermined in almost all controlled sectors. Even though the Federation systems are wealthier than most Imperial systems, the undermining efforts by Imperial, Independent, and Alliance Commanders quickly use up our resources, forcing us onto the defensive.

as such, I'm creating this thread so that we may connect with each other and prevent wasteful expenditure of resources.

For example, Sol has 400% fortification. Stop fortifying it, damnit.

instead, I suggest that we fortify LP701-7, a control system that gives us positive control point income but is under significant undermining effort by enemy commanders. Just get the fortification level to 100% and their undermining will cancel, which will give us extra CC to use for this cycle.

We need someone to organize Hudson pilots in general, and if Winters pilots are willing to work together, we can be a force to be reckoned with, even with 4 imperial senators gaining ground.

I agree. Us Federals need to stick together, regardless of political alignment.

Our CC income is still greater than the Imperials. If we work together, we can undermine the Imperial encroachment and take the place at the top again.

i'm going to drop by LP701-7 later and drop around 150 garrison supplies, taking usual precautions. We really need that system.

We are currently attacking the Nicollos system, a Federation owned system near our border that the Torvals have decided to invade. Yesterday an operation was initiated yesterday (and it will be ongoing all week), and I am pleased to report due to the hard work of both Winters and Hudson supporters we overtook their expansion efforts by 400% in one night. They have finally noticed and are starting to patrol the area. I highly recommend joining the mumble server to wing up and to go kick some Imperial tail!

(the way to gain 15 merits per kill is to interdict the Imperial Broker ships in supercruise and destroy them. Hand in your merits at the closest Control systems (Mambojas and Ithhome)

Us here at http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteWinters/ are more than happy to help our federation allies however we can. I would just add that we won't be helping in operations against the alliance. We are trying to work out a de-escalation of the fighting that has been happening between our powers and hopefully pave the way to a neutral peace treaty.

I logged out at Mullag and will continue opposing Mahon there when I am back home. He is trying to expand into Federal space and that has to be stopped.

If only we had better rewards than the satisfaction of a job well done :(.

In any case, I'm expanding quite a bit of my own funds to fortify every control system. That should give our president some breathing room.

I am a Mercenary. I go there where the credits come from. Prefareable with combat tasks. I have chosen to support Hudson because he offers a lot of combat tasks (according to his overview page) but uh-oh.
Delivering missions for keeping a system stable? Do I look like my fighter ships have any storage options? So that's not my job, that's a job for the one's who don't dare to fight.

So the next week, I looked for combat tasks and I finally found a Military Strike nav signal in some system. Was shooting some ships and got 16 of these merits. Handed them in and got ... 1.600 cr. This is not even worth me opening ED. I have better things to do than wasting my time with a rubbish pay. Shooting hostile ships doesn't even give you credits, just one merit, even for a conda. And in addition, you have to deal the blasting shot.
So no option for me as well since the pay is ridiculous low.

How could you, Hudson, dare to waste so much of my worthy time?

As a military person, I expect combat tasks and no transport missions, especially if you can't even manage to deliver your goods in time, have to wait 30 minutes so your unskilled workers who probably have to pay for working for you to get 10 tonnes of stuff into my ship? I am disappointed.


One of Hudson's quotes: "I don't pay you for doing nothing." (translate from german). Well I say, you don't pay me at all.




Now to a more serious point: The Federation is my favourite faction but I am not the boring trader type, I like shooting, I like it alot. I went to Hudson because of his military tactics but I see transport missions (?). In addition, I recieve no pay so I just accept missions here and there no matter if I have to kill pirates or federal ships. The credits need to flow, they need to flow to me. Hudson pays nothing, pirates actually pay a good amount of credits. Around 80kcr for one kill.

Tell me one good reason why I should support Hudson.

Because, like you, I am a mercenary at heart and I murder pirates and Imperials for quick credits.

Gaining Rank 2 under Hudson's auspice grants you 40% increased revenue from turning in bounty hunting creds to controlled or exploited systems.

Hudson also decreases security rating of Independent, alliance, and Imperial systems that he exploits, which means more pirates to shoot at.

Putting Hudson at Rank 1 in the galaxy increaes revenue from turning in bounty hunting to 50%, as long as you are at Rank 2, which is easy enough to get.

I want this to happen, so I help Hudson reclaim his position at the top of the Galaxy. That way, I get more money for playing in the corner of the galaxy that I like hanging out in my past time.



Hudson also has the added benefit of being a non-slaving leader of a democratically elected federation system. If I wanted benefits only, I would join the goddamned Imperials. Well that, and if Imperials had any sense of aesthetics. Their ships look like flying whales.

Good luck with that, even before PowerPlay most of the player factions were sided with the Empire, they are much more organized and even if the Feds have more numbers they can't compete with an organized faction.

On top of that they're using some really cheap tactics, I just spotted two players killing Hudson supporters, one of them pledged to the Empire and other to the Federation, yea he was doing "friendly fire" aka fooling people making them think he was friendly.

This PowerPlay thing is more one sided than a Mobius Strip.
