Out comes to Boarding

While I am a combat pilot in game I have gone through some trading and suffered from piracy.
While listening to a book I was struck with the thought:

With SC having a FPS model and boarding actions being a potential thing, I was struck with the comical thought. If ED ever modifies Piracy to a point where Boarding Actions and multi crew ships are a thing I would be excited for the Type 9 pilots being attacked by ships like the Clipper and Corvette being boarded to then fight off and win against the pilot not only keeping their cargo but gaining the attacker's ship and subsequent cargo. Then on return to station ether selling off the captured pirate ship or taking ownership.

This is not a fully thought out idea and does have some holes nor has ED put out that any such thing will happen I wanted to get others thoughts.

While the idea for the slavery is interesting, personally I think it would be a massive headache. I was more thinking that when you board the ship it would be more like when you "die" you lose the ship and have to spend the rebuy. I know that the lore has it that you dont actually die but are auto ejected, retrieved, and then you rebuy and keeping with that mechanic if you get boarded you have the option to eject safely or try and fight. If you fight you can either die or run to the escape pod and again eject safely.

While slavery is a thing in Empire forcing the player to have to not only work up to get freedom one way or the other but to then also grind for their assets back. If players want to have a backstory for their commandeers that isnt something that they just make up but something that can be looked up upon scanning then when they first start a new game you can pick a start time to a greater effect than what Mass Effect did. For example you can chose an Imperial Slave start where you have few starting credits and a debt to pay off but a backer that would assist with the bill just to take a bit of your profits, or you can chose full slave and you get no income a generic ship and you have to "escape" some how (FD determines parameters). The flip side if you chose Fed starting you could have a corporate backer who will get you a better starting ship but you are forced missions to pay off the ship (like a cobra) and a bit of your profits are taken from anything you do and if you cant pay or fail too many missions they will take your ship and you would have to start from sidy. All of which could be used as a tutorial of sorts and can have a cut off point so your not forever having to stick with the parameters and can eventually build your assets as your desire then play as you wish.

If hostile boarding does take place, I'm looking forward to threads and videos of people complaining about getting lost inside a Type-9 they were trying to rob.
