Out in the core, beta is coming. What should I do?

Well, right now I'm in the core exploring, only 1k ly from Sag A*, I want to stay out there for a few weeks more for scientific reasons (mainly ELWs and Neutron stars).

But 2.1 beta is coming out before my planned return, and I should need to be inside the bubble to test most things.

Heading back now is a last resort. Is there some sort of way to teleport my commander back to the bubble during the beta and teleport me back once the beta is done?

Or is there another alternative?

Just keep doing what you're doing. Beta uses just a copy of your account.

Yup, you're right. But your beta self will spawn in the same location as your normal self if I remember correctly.

True, but you can simply poke the 'self destruct' (in beta) and be done with it. Insta-port to wherever you docked the last time.

Ok here's a rundown from an FAQ I did for past betas:

Saved game and beta:
Beta servers are entirely separated from the live servers. The save data is generated from a snapshot of the live servers in the weeks leading up to the beta. It may appear that your beta character has lost progress or has moved system if you played the game between the snapshot being taken and the beta being launched.
Any progress made in beta is lost at the end of the beta test period and no part of beta affects your main save.

Discounts and testing:
For testing purposes rank requirements are removed during beta. Furthermore at both LHS 3447 (Dalton Gateway) and Shinrarta Dezhra/Founders World (Jameson Memorial) there is a discount of 90% allowing ships and equipment to be bought and tested for a fraction of their price in the live game, these stations also stock all ships/equipment during beta.

As such you can load up beta's and self destruct your way back to the bubble, test at will and then load up your main account and continue where you were. It's exactly what I intend to do (currently just north of Sag A* :))

Oh if I had access it would instant self destruct, check out the new stuff as much as possible.

Then you can gauge how eager to be on the way back from the exploration. One thing us for sure though at least lots of info will be compiled when you return so it'll be easier to find and aquire what you want from 2.1

Any progress made in the beta is not saved to the normal game, so there would be no need to teleport you back.

Chances are that the copy of commanders for use in the beta has already been made (it's usually made a few weeks in advance), so even if you travel back to the bubble now you might end up near the core in the beta.
So with that, you have two options. Assuming you're near the core when the beta starts you could either spend the time traveling back to the bubble and then you'd have plenty of money to test out everything with the profit from exploration you made... or you could restart your save for the beta (won't carry over to the main game) and test things out through that, luckily everything is 90% off in the beta as well.
Ah yes, you could also self destruct as was stated above... forgot about death somehow.

Just self destruct in beta. Beta character is different from live. So then you are back in last station you docked. That has no effect on your live character and if you log into live servers you are still in core. What happens in beta won't carry over to live server. So you can just self destruct and take part to testing new stuff.
