Outfitting function

The outfitting screen needs some love.

How about categorising some of the available items e.g. weapon hardpoints - instead of just having a long list of guns and equipment could we have categories like energy weapons, projectile weapons, launchers etc so we don't have to scroll down endlessly to find the one item you want.

Also the information on some pieces of equipment is severely lacking e.g, fuel scoops, they all weigh the same and other than their class rating there is no information why one is better than the other. Some stats on performance, fuel intake rate, efficiency etc would be really useful. The same is true for some of the scanners and other equipment.

There is some info for weapons and other equipment but again I think we need more. Why don't you just have a damage stat, not a bar that is ambiguous but a hard stat (how much damage it does) so we can compare weapons on a like for like basis.
There is also no indication of whether a weapon is considered small, medium, large or extra large other than the tonnage. Please FD, take the guesswork out of equipping your ship and give us a proper outfitting function that makes sense.
 
Yes, there needs to be (and probably will have introduced at some point) a filtering system to see exactly the module type you're looking for instead of scrolling through every possible option.
