Outfitting, Rares, and Spider's web woes.

Dearest FD,

I'm loving the game, and I'm spending way too much time on it, but since you have a suggestions thread:

OUTFITTING INTERFACE:

I've been playing since premium beta, and outfitting STILL confuses my brain beyond fun. Its extremely difficult for me to grasp all the variables when selecting an upgrade.

The rating increases as the alphabet goes backwards, but the class improves as the numbers go up ????? What ???

I need GRAPHICS !!!!

I need a visual representation of all the numbers to make the process clearer and even instinctive. Pie charts, graphs, icons....something visual to take away all the mathematics.

Others will say that its easy when you take time to understand it....Well I'm like 10 months in, and I'm still totally confused. Perhaps I'm dyslexic.

SPIDER'S WEB:

When calculating a fastest route from A to B, I only need the spider's web to calculate routes in the general direction of B.

Calculating in all directions takes way too long, and creates a visually confusing mesh of targetable stars.

Alternatively, once my destination is selected, it would be terribly helpful if my computer would highlight whichever star at the outermost fringe of the web is nearest to my destination, so that I can target that instead. Even if the computer displayed a straight line between A and B, I could then use this as a reference to select nearby target stars along the way.

Selecting the fastest route to a star beyond the spider's web is currently more of an art than a science.

RARES:

I feel that this system needs tweaking to be a bit more generous towards the player.

I can collect roughly 17 units at any one station before the supply completely dries up. That'll give me about 250, 000 profit once I make the 150+ ly journey to sell them. That seems like a nice profit, but consider that it will take more than 300 runs before I can afford a T9 for example.....and that's just for the ship.....I still need money for insurance and cargo.

I understand that these items need to be rare (the clue is in the title), but if the supply were to double from an average of 17 to 34, that means 150 runs for a T9....that's worth working towards.

Or make the ships cheaper :)

I'm sure that these have all been mentioned before, and they may be on your to-do list along with multiple commanders per player, ship ferrying service, additional mission content, more ships, more revenue generating in game items, additional language support, and then there's the DLC packs !

You guys have got a busy year ahead I'd say.

Already ED has exceeded my expectations - I'm very excited to see what you come up with for us next.

keep on amazing us, FD - you guys (and gals) rock.
