Outfitting Selling and re-buying

I have a question about the Outfitting selling and buy back options...

I just watched a friend sell 2 Mining lasers, but he was only able to buy back one of them... this does not seem right to me.... how about you?

Yeah that doesn't seem right, he didn't need more than one.

im pretty sure there's a stock of weapons at a station that get depleted if people buy them.
