Outpost and Docking

Hey all,

Not sure if anyone else is finding this frustrating, but every outpost I go to I just get docking request denied. I see several other CMDR's hanging around possibly with the same issue.

Currently I know you can log out go into solo play and log back in, firstly I want to avoid solo play 100%. I currently log out and log-back in to open play that usually resolves the issue, but frustrating to have to do this and moving forward this is not workable! I also had a 17 minute reputation job off the bulletin board, and couldn't complete due to this issue.

At the very least you should be given a ticket to say you are number 8th in-line to dock, then I can go make a cuppa and saves you repeatedly having to request docking.

If people sit on the pad, then they should be on a timer and then have to go down into the holding area. These stations must be able to hold more than 3 players ships, right? I presume this as the bigger stations have 50 landing pads, but 10,000 residents, or is parking like central London.

Anyway FDEV great game really enjoying it so far, but this is an issue, there's a work around as mentioned, but the mechanic needs to be tweaked and improved in my opinion.

Like parking in my local Tesco, often nowhere to go and you have to keep going around and around until a space opens up....

Stealing a space can be fun, and if you move in close on an outpost you can sneak in ahead of others!

Definitely like Tesco on Saturday afternoon.....nightmare, I am not sure if it gives priority to the closets ships though, will put that to the test.

I ask for docking permission straight after coming out of super cruise. That way if docking is denied I can keep requesting all the way during the flight in. More often than not I get docking granted on my second request...

You seem to be lucky, I have a great outpost for buying metals from but I can request docking 10 times and get denied, wait a bit then repeat and still not get permission, this happens 99% of the time. Some times there are a few players waiting and sometimes not but always difficult to dock.

It's other pilots sitting on the landing pads, and there are only four on the outposts. I can understand other players doing this, but when AI does it it's kinda stupid.

Despite all the marketing and always online DRM justification, this is still a single player game.

Just go private/solo mode and you will never have trouble docking at stations.

I have the distinct feeling, that FD never really thought this over, when they created docking mechanics for a multiplayer game.

Shame really, but its just one of the many nails in this game's coffin.

I am sure they will sort this soon, not raised a ticket but they must be aware of the issue and does not seem to beaffecting every outpost.

Agree with this. At the moment I just repeatedly request docking until I get in, always wonder if I'm going to pee off the station manager with my impatience ;-)

A Queue system is needed. You send a request, you receive a ticket for # in line.

Granted I only saw it happening at starter sectors. All other places is peaceful.
