Recently, the Ant Hill Mob tried to expand out of Maia. However, since there is nowhere to expand to, they entered a state of investment. I see the immense aliens plotline brewing in Merope, and I'd love for there to be more human settlements in the area. This is why I propose an outpost be built.
Location Options:
- Pleione 1, 3 or 5
- Pleiades Sector HR-W D1-79 (Any)
Government Options:
- Hagglebeard's Heroes!
- Auto-generate a new one (details below)
- Other already present Maian faction (exluding Ant Hill Mob) (details below)
Economy Options:
- Terraforming
- Extraction
- Refinery
Facility Options:
- Commodities Market
- Universal Cartographics
- Contacts
> Local Security Office
> Combat Bond Contact
> Black Market
- Repair
- Rearm
- Refuel
The locations have been chosen in order to remain close to Maia, which is humanity's current base of operations in the nebula, and have worthwhile resources in-system.
The government options have been chosen in such a way that allows the BGS more wiggle-room than would otherwise be possible. I specifically don't want to see the Ant Hill Mob take control of the new outpost because the faction would have a complete stronghold over the nebula, and the current stalemate will continue. If any other factions control the outpost from the get-go, a power struggle can occur, which is fun. One of the options is "auto-generate a new faction" - this is intended to be used in the aliens plotline. There are a great many Federation Navy ships in and about Merope as of late, so why not give them a base to operate out of? A faction named similarly to "Federal Navy Pleiades Detachment" would be amazing!
The economy options are to make use of nearby resources, and the terraforming economy on and in orbit around Pleiades Sector HR-W D1-79 2 (if this system is chosen) will allow it to, perhaps, become an agricultural center. I think this would draw a lot more trade
The facility options for this outpost include a more varied selection than your average outpost, because I'd like this outpost to be very useful, considering there aren't many close-by systems to go to, alternatively. I'd like the black market to remain open permanently, because i imagine it'd be very difficult to control sales in such a lawless region, and I'm a pirate, darn it!
Thoughts, suggestions, ideas, etc? My ears are open!

Looks good. Some suggestions: if they're going to make a CG around this, make it an open-ended CG (e.g. not just "instant outpost, just add painite" things that only last for one week and don't get anywhere near achieving anything worthwhile (e.g. the higher tiers).
Last time they had an 'upgrade all the facilities' goal out on the edge of nowhere it was a complete fluster-cluck. Among other problems they weren't selling mining gear locally. facepalm And the required amounts were way too high, the rewards were way too low, and they only gave them a week to plug away at it.
But, conversely, it should be stupidly, near impossibly hard to gather all the required resources (you just have to give people time to do it).
E.g. look at your outpost, now look at your anaconda. Anacondas look small compared to outposts, right? How much air does the outpost need? How much water? An anaconda is over 100 metres long, but a cube of water 100 metres on a side is a million tons of water.
Imagine trying to mine a million tons of water. It would take ' forever, even as a CG with thousands of people participating. And, in all likelihood you'd end up with only a couple of hundred die-hards plugging away at it after the first month.
So it needs to be (a) ongoing and (b) progressive. That is, there need to be milestones along the way that indicate some kind of achievement. Like at first maybe it's just a tiny outpost with small pads. Then later on it gets bigger and the medium pads get added.
I also think that participation should be tied to a really meaningful reward. E.g. we're just about to see the panther superhauler arrive. Maybe once people have contributed a couple of thousand tons to the project (whether by mining or long distance haulage) they could unlock the right to buy a panther?
