Outposts and big ships

I just bought a Type 7. But when I tried to land at an outpost I was told it had no landing pad large enough, which came as a surprise. Is this true of all outposts? Can the bigger ships only land at the large stations?

Thanks. Does it say that in the manual? I looked for something along those lines but couldn't find anything.

You would take a 40 ft lorry to ASDA for deliveries but would you take a 40 ft articulated lorry to the local store? or would you use a delivery van?

Yeah but you could take an articulated lorry to a local store though you might have to park further away. It's a difference in convenience and economy. It would be nice to be able to take big ships to an outpost and accept some level of inconvenience. Maybe the outpost would have to send drone ships to transfer cargo or deliver payment confirmations and you'd have to pay extra for them.

Launch your Adder / Hauler / Cobra from inside your Anaconda. Coming soon................................

No way any of those ships will fit in a Conda... Sidewinder or fed fighter will be the largest.

Devs also mentioned (a while back) some outposts will be given large pads in the future

Question is what happens to the Mothership while you fly around in the Sidewinder. Will it only work for multiplayer?

Or will there be an Anaconda autopilot / NPC? And would i trust them to fly it safely.

The Hauler looks good to go sizewise.

You could drop the Conda out of SC, the wake only lasts for a short while then the ship is invisible. From that point onwards it can be used like a mobile base for the sidewinder

I just find it ironic that in the year 3301, they can't solve trading across some gap as 19th century ships at sea did using cargo lines across the gap between ships.

Here you are in this god forsaken outpost, and here comes a giant ship loaded down with all sorts of goodies they would like to provide your miserable outpost life - not fitting on the landing pad I get, and for game mechanics sense it's ok to make ship choice a factor by limiting who gets to trade at outposts - but pure common sense kinda makes me chuckle that in 3301 they can't ring a trade umbilical from the outpost to the giant cargo ship (as even primitive 19th century sailors did)
