Newcomer / Intro Over the top police presence in RES.

Is it just me, or are there more police vessels than ever now in any RES?
I'm finding that it's getting really difficult now to rack up bounties with so many ships being destroyed by security forces before my Federal Dropship can even get there.
Anyone else experience this?

Nope.

I suspect the problem might be related to two things:

1. The security level of the system you're hunting in.

2. Your use of a double decker bus to get around in. It's... not exactly fast.

You're probably right about the Dropship - I guess I'm comparing it to how things were in my old Viper.
What governs the security level of the systems then - is it population, economy type or wealth?

I actually find them helpful as they lead you to targets, I am in a Viper which seems pretty fast though...

The dev update talks about high security RES's and low security RES's, no real details, but it is obvious they are doing something about it. Whether it is for the better remains to be seen.

when there is too much security around i try to thin out the flock by not helping too much (only works when you're the only player in the region) example: when i approach an anaconda, and too many feds are around. I usually just tag it and stay out of range until the last 10% or something like that. The anaconda kills a few of the AIs and it's less of a hustle to get to the smaller ships before the Feds kill them.

"Tag it and stay out of range"

Is this just remembering where it is or can you mark it on your scanner somehow?

nah what i mean is that is shoot it once so i'm enlisted for the bounty. I usually get back to it anyway to finish it but sometimes i get into another fight that take smy full attention. Other times it is just to spot it faster on the radar - yes.
