Engineers Overcharged MC

o7 commanders,
I haven't participated in the beta but I understand you were able to increase the dps of MCs by a very large amount (like 160%). I just wanted to know if that is still the case in the live game. I mean, most of you have probably seen the Federal Annihilator (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjgsZe9dlaY) video, are you still able to do this? I hope not, wouldn't be mad either way though. Thanks
 
all Upgrades have downsides... an overcharged multicannon rank 5 can give you anywhere between 29% and 68% more damage BUT it will draw between 25% and 50% more power from the Distributor!!!

So ist not 160% and it has a clear downside!

On top of that you can get a few mods that increase damage. Acid rounds can give a debuff to a ship that increases damage taken by 25%(also only against the hull)(could be more or less but seems around that ball park) and you can get incendiary rounds that increases over all damage but also increases heat output. Smaller weapons are better for the acid rounds while class 3/4 are better for incendiary. Making the Corvettes class 4 multi cannons very formidable if you manage to get those mods.

So, the answer to my question is: no, you can't do what he did in the video anymore..? I know upgrades have downsides and you can increase dmg in different ways, I was just curious about those overcharged MCs. I know they were considered op in the beta and I've seen the stats on Inara, that is why I started this thread, to see if they indeed got nerfed. Thanks for the replies commanders.
 
they are still extremely OP in reference to multi-cannons because their distributor draw is almost irrelevant, you can get double damage out of a T5 without too much of a struggle.
