Engineers Overcharged vs Rapid Fire - Anaconda help

Everything for me regarding engineers so far has been pretty straight forward. I am now stumped between these two modifications and what the differences in damage/efficiency are.

Here is my current build:

Engineer upgrades are not applied, but i do have plenty of power to spare (50mw).

I have yet to upgrade the distributor either as im not sure if charge enhanced or high capacity is the correct choice.

How would i go about upgrading the weapons? Do i go all overcharged, rapid fire, or a mix of the two? Would rapid fire on the lasers and overcharged on the multicannons be the most efficient way to go? Im looking for a good balance between burst and sustained fire without draining my capacitor too quickly but not lacking on burst damage. Basically the quickest way to shred through NPC's. Im looking for advice on this situation as im a bit overwhelmed.

I used overcharge on my pulse weapons along with the phasing sequence. Phasing sequence alone reduces the weapons damage but overcharge counters this and I even got more damage output on those pulses. The power draw is increased but the conda can fire them all day long.
As for shredding through enemy's, I'm currently running 2 imperial hamers with high capacity mags and super penetrator. What an unleash of fire power these things have.

Charge enhanced for the PD without question.

For multis, go overcharged for sure, still very little draw on the capacitor compared with other weapons. For lasers, overcharged for pulses as your PD should easily be able to handle that. If you are using bursts or beams efficient is the way to go to keep low PD draw. Rapid fire adds jitter even at grade 5.

I've got 4 (1H/3C) Mutli cannons, all overcharged, one with corrosive shell, and 4 (2+2 1/2) Pulses with Overcharge and all Phasing. I've got a G4 charge enhanced distributor (thanks to no Ex Focus Crystals), and you don't need more than 2 pips. It may take a little longer to work down the shields on another big ship (Ana/Python/Clipper), but once the shields are down, or just about down, the MCs totally obliterate it.

I've got rapid fire (+ thermal shock) on the python (3 Large), and two OC multicannons. Any fighter class ship is dust in a few seconds. Versus another Python (PVE), it doesn't last much more than 15 seconds. Once the shields are gone, the two medium/OC multicannons wipe out the power plant pretty quick.

As for rapid versus pulse, I will say this, after playing with combinations of both for a few weeks. The rapid fire will turn your ship into an ez bake oven fairly quickly (especially with dirty drives). Overcharged does a little more damage, but your caps are drained in bout 75% of the time relative to the rapid fires. I suppose that's the way it's supposed to be (balance?). That being said, I'm actually using a combo of 2 rapid and one OC on the Python, and it works pretty well.

Mutlicannons, OC is the only real choice. The distributor increase is negligible at most.

even tried an all cannon loadout with the Anaconda (1H, 3L, 2M, 2S), all Overcharged with High Yield Shell [sic]. That was just stupid annihilation, if you could hit anything... (had all 8 in one group for "testing"). Ahh, science. Watching an Adder/Courier vaporize with one pull of the trigger prompted fairly psychotic laughter.

I would advise going to beta server and trying out a few builds, seems to me over charged is going to get a nerf as are gimballed weapons in general, that said you can run a all pulse raipd fire build with a 4a mutli over charged with corrsive mod, for the rapid fire pulse i would mod phase. The 4a multi means you wont run so hot, and when you do just stop firing the pulse lasers for a few seconds and keep firing the 4a multicannon to maintain dps and allow for cooling.

I currently have mats for some grade 5 weapon upgrades, which im going to hold onto till after beta is done testing. I would advise you to do the same as current weapons may vary greatly with the next patch.

I play on console so no beta for me unfortunately.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I've been grinding for rare mats the past few days so i dont have the resources to experiment.

a slap in the face to people who grinded modified embedded firmware

I think I'm down to 6 MEF, but nothing to do with them for the time being. while trying to save/rank up for a cutter/vette. I'll have plenty of time (currently Lord and Midshipman, ack) to go find more MEF by the time I need them.

Unless I need a break and just in the ASP and make my scanning rounds a few times. Every couple weeks I go to about 10 bases I got lucky and found some previously. Not a guarantee, but I can usually get a few out of them.
