Hardware & Technical Overclocking an AMD FX-6300 with the Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

So, apart from the aftermarket sound card and minus 8gb of RAM (I have 8gb total right now),
This is my build:

I just opened my Christmas presents and got a the Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler :D along with the Arctic Silver 5 thermal lube kit (complete with a 2-part cleaning solution :D). So I'm finally contemplating overclocking the CPU, now that I have a decent CPU cooler. Does anyone have any tips as to how I should do this? What limits should I adhere to, should I mess with voltages at all or just increase the clock speed a little here and there. What would be a good temperature monitoring program (preferably free). I may not have a fancy liquid-nitrogen cooling setup but the Rosewill Blackhawk case has 5 (yup count that, 5) chassis fans, of which are all stock. I believe there are a couple of 140mm fans, a couple of 120mm's, and a single 90mm fan on the side.

Also if anyone who has experience building computers, how do you think I did with my first gaming rig? I know the processor isn't the best top-of-the-line super omega 8000 CPU, and I may have spent too much of the budget on peripherals as opposed to core components, but I really like this computer so far. Well seeing as though as I've only ever owned a couple of low-range laptops in my lifetime, almost any desktop can impress me.

Thanks for any help/tips/links/opinions/insight/etc.,

Manage to run mine on 4.5 GHz under 47 C with the same cooler. It may be capable of more , but don't need it know :)
I do i the lazy way. Start AMD overdrive , see what it did to manage clock. Reset it and put the settings into the bios.
