Overpriced

Frontier. With all good things happening around the game bare in mind this. Why is every ship / ship part overpriced?

If i buy ASP, the cost will end up to maybe 50 million or more of upgrades. To get that amount of creds takes ages. Been only bounty hunting since realease with 2500 kills only wanted guys. ok been working alot but hey.

You overprice everything because lack of content. The time i spend now is running thin. i didnt buy the game to grind myself out of the game.

My though is now what part of the ship will get me quit the game.

The key is to realise the aim of the game isn't to get the biggest ship, nor to think that they would be sustainable anyway.

The objective is to get Elite. If you find that easier in a more-cost effective ship, then I suggest you stick to that approach. I'm sticking with my Cobra for the time being and I've encountered many players who've dropped back down to one for similar reasons.

why are you over exagerating A spec asp cost 25 million not 50

And while some of the bigger ships are quiet expensive (as they should be you wouldn't want to just rush to the top tier of ships), you are grossly over exaggerating the Asp cost. With all the important A class items on a fully kitted Asp, you will not need to spend more than 17 - 20 million.

i started my ASP with 10mil, was fun slowly upgrading it with exploration and some aimless travelling around with the occasional trading.

it's worth now 20-25mil and it's awesome, having everything at A, doesn't represent the best setup.

Think outside the box and get creative. Save for a T6 and do a couple of rare runs or identify a good trade route. Pirate people. Get a KWS and bounty hunt in anarchy systems. I took advantage of the communty goal in Yembo and netted about 5 million in 3 days with an Asp with a 52 ton cargo bay. Loads of ways to make money, just keep your eyes open.

He aint far off, but he forgot to mention that you need to keep some spare cash! So closer to 50 than 25!
I am currently saving up for my general purpose Asp, cost is 38,648,798 + 1,932,440 insurance = 40,581,238.
You would probably want a couple of mill float on top of that!

Having said that I don’t particular feel this is overpriced, as indicated elsewhere if you aim for this kind of hardware you need to climb the trade ladder. I am currently on the T7 rung of that ladder, so another couple of nights trading and I’m off exploring!

Mickey. i Want a Maxed ASP, whats the cost? do your math.

Also. This game is not for those who have jobs.

Maxed =/= reflective/ablative/military those are side grades not upgrades, the extra weight is a pretty sizeable drawback.

I currently own:

1. A reasonably fitted Cobra (not all A stuff though)
2. A very useful Asp in which I have done some exploring, and then refitted a little to be more of a battle bus (and it's very good at it!)
3. a T6 in which I do some truckin' from time to time, as I would also like to add an Imperial Clipper to my fleet
4. My original Startwinder from which I sold the few upgrades I put on it, and found the base ship to be 'loaned' and worth nothing in part exchange anyway, so I left it there! (now 200ly from where I am now)

So, apart from the Sidewinder, I have all the other ships at the same place and can choose what I fancy doing! That is of course, if I am back at my 'home base' when I come to play. Otherwise it is a bit of a trek to get there first if I am in the wrong ship!

NOTE: I have 'moved home' a couple of times, this is easily done by flying one ship to your intended 'new home base', buying a basic Sidewinder, fly back to your other ship/s, sell it, and fly the next ship to your 'new home base', then rinse and repeat for all your ships.

Of course, you COULD sell everything except one, move, then buy them back. However, you will almost certainly find they don't sell a Clipper, or that fancy A5 FSD you had on the Asp, or whatever. So always best to 'move' them rather than have to re-source that crucial and sometimes hard to find module.

.

What kind of bogus fit is that? Why would you not take a class 6 shield generator, why would you take both military armor and exploration equipment?

Why don't you artificially boost the price a bit more by fitting turreted beam lasers on all hardpoints? :p

behold, the sidewinder, a 9 million credit ship

well when i looked at trading the value of ship was 25million or there abouts i got all my stuff at founders world so 10 discount so rebuy was just over 1million so i would say 5-10 million over the cost but that was my A spec you dont need an A spec to get started so still no where near 50 million

I don't think the ships and components are particularly overpriced tbh. Things cost a lot, yes, but they need to. Having everything available for next-to-nothing provides no sense of achievement when you obtain $thing.

Of course, I can understand if you want All The Things but only want to put 5 minutes into gameplay, but them's the breaks.
