Hello everyone!
(a long text, I know, but please read it nevertheless lol)
I guess that some people here learned already I'm not really a fan of DLCs, hehe. Anyway, I want to propose my idea for one. I hope I won't repeat too much as at least part of this has been proposed already before.
Well, my idea was about a DLC around Owen Grady. Give the carnivores' feeding some love after the herbivores already did get some attention with Paleobotany and Claire's Sanctuary.
Why Owen Grady? Because he's the personification of somewhat """taming""" carnivores with a focus on training and feeding. What shall the content of this DLC be?
1.
Let's take a Tyrannosaurus as an example. Our big girl has a favourite meal she clearly prefers over others, for example goat. Giving her the food she wants could rise a "happiness-meter" that in the end also gives her rating a bonus of "species-appropriate feeding" (yes, goat isn't really the animal the T. rex hunted back then, but I'm lacking a better name for that bonus right now lol).
However, getting always the same meal can get boring. Our girl wants some change. So after three or four goats the player would have to set a system for the feeder:
3x goats, 1x cattle, 3x goats, 1x cattle etc
Please note, this is just an example. But thus the player would have to program automated feeders that dispense certain food according to a system. Each carnivore could have certain bait animals they like and don't like.
2.
Why not make further profit from this? The DLC could come with additional buildings like the hollow tree log where visitors could enjoy watching feeding shows during set times. Furthermore, tie bait animals to the feeder, that would also solve the problem of the goats looking a bit dumb when they don't flee from approaching predators! Feeding shows would offer a lot of fun to the guests, but would come with additional costs.
3.
And last but not least, add more live bait. It's canon and it would add a lot of immersion and change to the game. I would like to see:
This also could be part of the DLC, but as it was requested so much from the community and also should've been part of the base game already in my opinion, add pack hunting mechanics in a free update. This could also come at any other time, but I believe it would come as a great addition to the DLC itself.
What are your thoughts on this? I'm glad to hear what you think about it!
