Owls

I know a lot of us want birds in the game. But, has anyone thought about owls? After all, look at Disney's Animal Kingdom. They have a show called "Feathered Friends In Flight". In the show, they show off most of the birds at the park. One of them is an owl. May not come but it is possible.

If we were to get some kind of flying birds in any form, Owls would definitely be something I'd have an interest in seeing. Great Horned Owl, Barn Owls, Snowy Owl, Eurasian Eagle Owl...all would be great to have.

These would be my options for owls
  • Snowy Owl (VU) -- male is the whitest

  • Eurasian Eagle-owl (LC) -- female is larger than male

  • Great Grey Owl (LC)

  • Spectacled Owl (LC) -- female is slightly larger in size

  • Burrowing Owl (LC)

On a hill I'm ready to die on is a Burrowing Owl would be a Top 10, not just but bird, but animal added to the game. They're practically perfect in every single way and hit so many checkboxes:
  • Work in the game's current habitat mechanics as they are primarily terrestrial
  • Could utilize pre-existing enrichment and shelter items like the small burrows (duh) and log
  • Are both North and South American, serving as the first bird to be in the continental Western Hemisphere
  • First bird of prey
  • Fulfill Frontier's lean towards to "cute" animals like the Quokka and Three Toed Sloth
  • EXTREMELY iconic and charismatic
  • Excellent postal service workers, particularly those attending Wizard School, Dear Reader
  • And of course, they're owls and everyone loves owls
