Powerplay Pack-Hound-Slightly underwhelmed at present

Couple of days ago I unlock this beauty, was so exited I didn't even test it before enhancing it with grade 5 engineer upgrades.

in using it further I have noticed some draw backs, Despite it's truly awesome effect (10/10 points for the missile swarm effect...very nice) It's success in striking the target is pretty bad.. at ranges over 3km I'd say 40-70% of Missiles never strike the target...instead just zoom right past the enemy even in close proximity. if anything I would of though more would hit at this range due to targeting and all.

I am aware that it has an incredibly low damage per projectile Dam of around 7x4 per volley each weapon, It's DPS however is Amazing!!. with2 PH expanded ammo capacity I can fire 47 missiles in under a second... this isn't bad.. it is quite a balanced weapon. just noting it isn't the damage that I am disappointed with.

I have placed Thermal cascade on each one. 2 volleys and the enemy can't fire without risking its own internals (I got a Corvette to lose 1% health in internals) it is effective but not ground breaking. Drag, Emissive and Overload are somewhat counterproductive for this weapon....they are all pretty useless.

Speaking of heat, the weapons generation of it is stupidly high, If I boost or have any other weapon firing it will push me over 100% heat in less than half a second....not good at all... I have no idea why it consumes so much energy just to activate a missile.




My solution to all of these issues is perhaps;

-Increase Success rate of missiles so that they actually hit the target.
-decrease heat generation slightly. Not too much but not at the ridiculous rates it is at now.
-Missiles in general need more efficient mods and special effects. something to increase dam perhaps? and-
- up the special effects a bit eh? start adding cumulative effect to drag (effectively almost stopping the target vessel), Overload is currently counterproductive as hull strikes do less damage. Emissive generates too much heat for the launcher and Cascade is somewhat underwhelming...at least have a 101% cap on it so that it can be used on NPC's more effectively.

Just an idea as well as a personal review of the weapon. that hit succession bit is a bit frustrating...
