Newcomer / Intro Painite, LTD etc sales to Fleet carriers - FAIL

Hi,

Been trying to sell painite, LTD etc to fleet carriers. I have found my buyer from EDDB and INARA. I checked the last update as still valid - they are sometimes mere minutes ago. I checked the demand on the websites and also on the commodity page of the FC. I dock with the FC but when I try to sell I can see the price, I can see the demand, I try to sell but it just takes me back to the commodity page each time. I have tried selling just 1 of the item but no matter the volume I cannot sell. I was flying around yesterday trying to beat the 'Improvement' update. I cannot sell to ANY Fleet Carrier. Tried 5 yesterday and 2 today. I cannot find an error message anywhere - it just fails.

Please help,
Tx

HI,
When you have a fleet carrier (I did - a while ago, but the upkeep was more than I wanted!) you can set the buy/sell prices, also whether you buy or sell - or not!
The Fleet Carrier owner can set limits on the quantity available for buy/sell.

It sounds as if the FC Owner has set the commodity to be not traded. Not too surprising when you consider that a lot of the FC capacity will be taken up with the different modules, additional tritium storage. Also the expected nerf in mining values may have an affect.
When I'm using EDDB for best selling prices, I'll ignore the FC markets.

Two possibilities.
a) it's the usual bug. Relog, and you'll see that the transaction has actually taken place - just your UI wasn't updated
b) the carrier's owner ran out of money (which he had to set aside to pay for your stuff in advance)

Regarding a), you might get lucky if you check your logs. EDD can make them easier to read.

An FC owner can only set a maximum quantity to buy for each buy order. For sell orders there is no such setting, which means the whole stock for that commodity will be available for selling. Not being able to set a maximum quantity for sell orders is a nasty omission in my view. I almost sold my whole stash of tritium once.

The money set aside for each buy order is to guarantee the owner has enough credits to fulfill the order.

So all in all it sounds like a bug to me. Maybe relogging clears it.

Tried relog and switching between solo/open to no avail. The carrier I am on at present shows demand of 1,857 and shows the sell price. I cannot sell even 1 unit. Someone earlier suggested the FC had run out of credit budget?? If so, then it seems to be a common issue. But then how are the prices showing as updated on INARA and EDDB - 27 minutes and 6 minutes respectively. Or are the prices merely updates from the marketplace and not from actual sales?
Anyway, getting pee'd off .. may have to take the hit and sell to a station ....

No. That can't happen. If an FC owner places a buy order for say 1000 units of a commodity for a price of 1000 credits per unit the carrier reserves 1,000,000 credits from the carrier budget so the whole order can be fulfilled without running out of credits.

Maybe it is something small? Like forgetting to select the sell screen (buy screen is default). Just guessing really.

Apologies to Harry - this is one of the FC I have tried. I am hoping I am doing something stupid wrong cos then I can fix it easily.
Relog, switch open to solo, sell 1 unit - nothing works.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. The panel on the right says the galactic average price for painite is 0 credits - it smells like a bug to me. Maybe a bad server connection?

relog, restart, pc restart , kick the bloody thing out of the window, rush downstairs to extract pc from next door neighbours car roof ... you saw nothing

The average (buy) price of painite is 0 because it is a 'mining only' commodity.

I must say I'm flabbergasted. OTOH the last time I sold something to a carrier was during the carrier-beta tests.

Maybe your reputation comes into play somehow? Does the same happen on a different carrier?

Same on about 7 FC I have tried - but all for Painite - and reputation fine = 0 - beginning to suspect Dev's hate me
