Hotspot overlaps are still a thing. They are just not as powerful relative to single hotspots as they once were. Not sure double hotspots are a thing anymore but someone will be along who actually knows.
In the inner ring, about 25 Mm close to the hotspot.Did you drop into the inner A-ring (metallic) or the broader outer B-ring (metal rich)?
Both. Started with the big panite HS on outer ring and then when it was useless I went for a tiny HS on the inner ring and it seemed a lot better. At the tiny HS I ended up with 116T then my limpets ran out. But I feel uncomfortable with this painite mining as it does not seem to drop painite roids very often.Did you drop into the inner A-ring (metallic) or the broader outer B-ring (metal rich)?
Very kind but I am stuck at this system to mine for a while. What price was the tritium?Congrats on your new Fleet Carrier by the way Hawknerd. I have a nice little gift for you. There is about 10k tons of cheap tritium at OSISSI. It's not on Inara yet. Better hurry up and get it though; the vultures will be showing up soon. I've gathered just about all that I need.
4500 credits last I checked. Three stations. It won't last though man, cat's out of the bagVery kind but I am stuck at this system to mine for a while. What price was the tritium?
I was asking the OP. The most likely reason he is not finding anything is that he dropped into the outer ring, which does not have laser mineable painite since it is metal rich and not metallic. In the inner ring, about 25 Mm close to the hotspot.
You cannot laser mine painite in a metal rich ring (only core).Both. What is the secret to painite mining?
Well dont I feel stupid!! Thats why I didnt get any. Thanks for explaining that because it was baffling me.You cannot laser mine painite in a metal rich ring (only core).
What exists in the rings depend on the ring type. A hotspot increases the relative frequency of the hotspot material, but since painite is not laser mineable in metal rich rings ...So hotspots are different for each ring? I think I just jumped in and should have done some homework.
How do you know this? What exists in the rings depend on the ring type. A hotspot increases the relative frequency of the hotspot material, but since painite is not laser mineable in metal rich rings ...
Ok, I just went and double checked, I was in the metal rich ring too. Crap! wasted a whole evening haha. Oh well, good learning experience!I haven't really mined painite either, just to unlock the engineer. I tried yesterday to mine it in a single hotspot, metallic ring. I must have shot 150 limpets and not a single rock had painite on the surface. One had a core of painite. I did jump out of the spot and back in four times, and same result every time. Is there some trick to painite?
