Paint number on pads please

Please, if you guys aren't going to fix the pad lights that constantly don't illuminate or go off and on constantly then please at least paint the number on the pads.

Or just look at your radar while they're trying to fix the issue?

Or even you're good at programming, give them a hand and write down a fix for them.

or look at the pad lightings. There are spotlight iluminating your pad.
Eyeball MK.I is a nice evolutionary gadget.

Or read the latest dev update and see that the disappearing pad illumination is fixed in the upcoming 1.1 release two weeks from now.

I've seen this happen so many times but I've always thought "I know where it was" and travel towards it. Then bingo! 9 times out of 10 it pops up again but if it doesn't there's the compass and the fact that by then I'm probably flying low and slow enough for the guide to show up.

In the patch notes for 1.06 they any that the pad number bug needs quite a large code rewrite and it is coming in 1.1

You can't just go by the spot lighting. There can be other pads lit up with spotlights where other ships are soon to land as well. You have to use your radar and the spot lighting.

When I was trying to land the other day using the radar, the pad right next to mine was lit up with spotlights and an NPC ship landed just shortly afer I landed. You can't just go by the spotlights, or you'll find yourself with a trespass warning.

Didn't find what? The flashing lights bug wasn't present back then, the far I'm aware.

Nope, we had completely missing pad numbers, pads that wouldn't let us land, pads that'd lower themselves and turn around just as we were landing. That all got fixed. The new problem appeared with the release build.

I got authorization to land at a large station yesterday. The pad was numbered just fine. There was an NPC ship in my spot, and it wouldn't move. I rammed it a bunch of times for fun, and unfortunately its shields kept up. Left, cancelled, and re-authorized, only to find the same number given. Third try was a charm.

Ha.. I had that once on an outpost when I was about to land on the medium pad just after the guy before me had left it. Scary thing to happen.

And I can't belive either that people are too STUPID to read that frickin compass.

Wow you guys sure are helpful. I got a car you sell you guys. The gas pedal is broke but I have affixed a pull string and hooked it to the fuel arm and the clutch doesn't work but you can you can always just grind it into gear. I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving me a good 35k for it. ats.

Hah you forgot pads that were already rotated and you had to land on them backwards! Or pads that got constantly cancelled and reassigned so you'd have to chase up and down the station till you finally managed to keep a pad assignment long enough to actually land on it. Or the fact that at one point you could actually land your ship up-side down!

Yes, beta testers DID find bugs that DID get fixed. This is a new one.

Don't go insulting people who are trying to help you, and keep your smart alec replies to yourself. Yes it needs to be fixed. No we can't do it ourselves. Yes FD have acknowledged the problem AND told us when it'd get fixed. Until then you've been advised of several useful work arounds for it. Get over it.

The issue here, and in most threads I've noticed, is whenever someone points out a design flaw, missing basic features, bugs, glitches etc, there's always a bunch of people who will find any excuse to tell everyone how either A, It's not the game for you, B, it's fine cuse back in 1984 it was way harder, son! C, don't be stupid for wanting common sense things! just look at compass fool! etc.

It gets real old how many people are so apologetic about everything missing or broken in this game.

I've had this flashing disappearing pad number happen a lot. It's annoying. Yes I'm aware of the compass. Guess what? Compass doesn't tell you have far in, in relative 3D space the pad is, only it's position laterally or vertically from where you are. Also, I'd like to fly my ship by looking out the giant glass window now and then instead of focusing on a blue dot in the center of a tiny ass compass target, thanks.

I don't know what you were expecting. It's a known issue. It's being worked on. The only thing you can do is either use your compass along with looking out the window for the spotlights lighting up your landing pad, or don't play until the bug is fixed.

Rudeness and name-calling won't get bugs fixed.
